'Others' in the Bible
Therefore, whatever you want others to do for you, do also the same for them—this is the Law and the Prophets.
Others fell on rocky ground, where there wasn’t much soil, and they sprang up quickly since the soil wasn’t deep.
Others fell among thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them.
Still others fell on good ground and produced a crop: some 100, some 60, and some 30 times what was sown.
and large crowds came to Him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, those unable to speak, and many others. They put them at His feet, and He healed them.
And they said, “Some say John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
When he went out about nine in the morning, he saw others standing in the marketplace doing nothing.
Then about five he went and found others standing around, and said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here all day doing nothing?’
A very large crowd spread their robes on the road; others were cutting branches from the trees and spreading them on the road.
And the others seized his slaves, treated them outrageously and killed them.
They do everything to be observed by others: They enlarge their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.
“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! You pay a tenth of mint, dill, and cumin, yet you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. These things should have been done without neglecting the others.
Then they spit in His face and beat Him; others slapped Him
“He saved others, but He cannot save Himself! He is the King of Israel! Let Him come down now from the cross, and we will believe in Him.
Still others fell on good ground and produced a crop that increased 30, 60, and 100 times what was sown.”
Others are sown among thorns; these are the ones who hear the word,
But others said, “He’s Elijah.” Still others said, “He’s a prophet—like one of the prophets.”
They answered Him, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, one of the prophets.”
Many people spread their robes on the road, and others spread leafy branches cut from the fields.
Then he sent another, and they killed that one. He also sent many others; they beat some and they killed some.
“Therefore, what will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the farmers and give the vineyard to others.
In the same way, the chief priests with the scribes were mocking Him to one another and saying, “He saved others; He cannot save Himself!
Then Levi hosted a grand banquet for Him at his house. Now there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others who were guests with them.
Just as you want others to do for you, do the same for them.
Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward; Susanna; and many others who were supporting them from their possessions.
some that Elijah had appeared, and others that one of the ancient prophets had risen.
They answered, “John the Baptist; others, Elijah; still others, that one of the ancient prophets has come back.”
After this, the Lord appointed 70 others, and He sent them ahead of Him in pairs to every town and place where He Himself was about to go.
And others, as a test, were demanding of Him a sign from heaven.
“But woe to you Pharisees! You give a tenth of mint, rue, and every kind of herb, and you bypass justice and love for God. These things you should have done without neglecting the others.
And He told them: “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the sight of others, but God knows your hearts. For what is highly admired by people is revolting in God’s sight.
He will come and destroy those farmers and give the vineyard to others.”But when they heard this they said, “No—never!”
Two others—criminals—were also led away to be executed with Him.
The people stood watching, and even the leaders kept scoffing: “He saved others; let Him save Himself if this is God’s Messiah, the Chosen One!”
I sent you to reap what you didn’t labor for; others have labored, and you have benefited from their labor.”
And there was a lot of discussion about Him among the crowds. Some were saying, “He’s a good man.” Others were saying, “No, on the contrary, He’s deceiving the people.”
Others said, “This is the Messiah!” But some said, “Surely the Messiah doesn’t come from Galilee, does He?
Some said, “He’s the one.” “No,” others were saying, “but he looks like him.”He kept saying, “I’m the one!”
Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for He doesn’t keep the Sabbath!” But others were saying, “How can a sinful man perform such signs?” And there was a division among them.
Others were saying, “These aren’t the words of someone demon-possessed. Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?”
The crowd standing there heard it and said it was thunder. Others said that an angel had spoken to Him.
Jesus answered, “Are you asking this on your own, or have others told you about Me?”
There they crucified Him and two others with Him, one on either side, with Jesus in the middle.
Simon Peter, Thomas (called “Twin”), Nathanael from Cana of Galilee, Zebedee’s sons, and two others of His disciples were together.
But after Paul and Barnabas had engaged them in serious argument and debate, the church arranged for Paul and Barnabas and some others of them to go up to the apostles and elders in Jerusalem concerning this controversy.
But Paul and Barnabas, along with many others, remained in Antioch teaching and proclaiming the message of the Lord.
So taking a security bond from Jason and the others, they released them.
Then also, some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers argued with him. Some said, “What is this pseudo-intellectual trying to say?”Others replied, “He seems to be a preacher of foreign deities”—because he was telling the good news about Jesus and the Resurrection.
When they heard about resurrection of the dead, some began to ridicule him. But others said, “We’d like to hear from you again about this.”
However, some men joined him and believed, including Dionysius the Areopagite, a woman named Damaris, and others with them.
Some were persuaded by what he said, but others did not believe.
Although they know full well God’s just sentence—that those who practice such things deserve to die—they not only do them, but even applaud others who practice them.
If I am not an apostle to others, at least I am to you, for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.
If others have this right to receive benefits from you, don’t we even more?However, we have not made use of this right; instead we endure everything so that we will not hinder the gospel of Christ.
Instead, I discipline my body and bring it under strict control, so that after preaching to others, I myself will not be disqualified.
For at the meal, each one eats his own supper ahead of others. So one person is hungry while another gets drunk!
yet in the church I would rather speak five words with my understanding, in order to teach others also, than 10,000 words in another language.
Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should evaluate.
To some we are an aroma of death leading to death, but to others, an aroma of life leading to life. And who is competent for this?
I am not saying this as a command. Rather, by means of the diligence of others, I am testing the genuineness of your love.
It is not that there may be relief for others and hardship for you, but it is a question of equality—
They will glorify God for your obedience to the confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with others through the proof provided by this service.
We too all previously lived among them in our fleshly desires, carrying out the inclinations of our flesh and thoughts, and we were by nature children under wrath as the others were also.
To be sure, some preach Christ out of envy and strife, but others out of good will.
the others proclaim Christ out of rivalry, not sincerely, seeking to cause me anxiety in my imprisonment.
Do nothing out of rivalry or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.
Everyone should look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
and we didn’t seek glory from people, either from you or from others.
For we hear that there are some among you who walk irresponsibly, not working at all, but interfering with the work of others.
Don’t be too quick to appoint anyone as an elder, and don’t share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.
Some people’s sins are obvious, going before them to judgment, but the sins of others surface later.
And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, commit to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
None of this happened without an oath. For others became priests without an oath,
and others experienced mockings and scourgings, as well as bonds and imprisonment.
Based on the gift each one has received, use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God.
and if He didn’t spare the ancient world, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others, when He brought a flood on the world of the ungodly;
save others by snatching them from the fire; have mercy on others but with fear, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh.
