Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

According to Your name, O God, so is Your praise to the ends of the earth. Your right hand is full of righteousness; let mount Zion rejoice!

Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.


Why do you look with envy, mountains with many peaks,
At the mountain [of the city of Zion] which God has desired for His dwelling place?
Yes, the Lord will dwell there forever.

But it is good for me to hold me fast by God, to put my trust in the LORD God, and to speak of all thy works in the gates of the daughter of Zion.

So He brought them to His holy land,

Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.

As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.

What shall one then answer the messengers of the nation? That the LORD hath founded Zion, and the poor of his people shall trust in it.

Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.

In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.


You saw that the breaches
In the wall of the City of David [the citadel of Zion] were many;
You collected [within the city’s walls] the waters of the Lower Pool (Siloam).

As the heat in Zion the noise of strangers thou shalt bring down; the heat with the shadow of a cloud: the song of the terrible shall be humbled.


On this mountain [Zion] the Lord of hosts will prepare a lavish banquet for all peoples [to welcome His reign on earth],
A banquet of aged wines—choice pieces [flavored] with marrow,
Of refined, aged wines.


For the hand of the Lord will rest on this mountain [Zion],
And Moab will be trampled down in his place
As straw is trampled down in the [filthy] water of a manure pile.

It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.

For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.

For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.

And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.

And a man was as a hiding of the spirit, and a covering of the tempest; as brooks of water in Zion, as the shadow of a weighty rock in a weary land.

The sinners in Zion are afraid; fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites. Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tabernacle that shall not be taken down; not one of the stakes thereof shall ever be removed, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.


And no inhabitant [of Zion] will say, “I am sick”;
The people who dwell there will be forgiven their wickedness [their sin, their injustice, their wrongdoing].

“Indeed, I have inscribed [a picture of] you on the palms of My hands;
Your city walls [Zion] are continually before Me.


“Lift up your eyes and look around [at the returning exiles];
All these gather together and they come to you [to rebuild you].
As I live,” declares the Lord,
“You [Zion] will indeed clothe yourself with all of them as jewels and tie them on as a bride.


“Then [Zion], you will say in your heart,
‘Who has borne me these children,
Since I have been bereaved of my children
And am barren, an exile and a wanderer?
And who has reared these?
Indeed, I was left alone;
From where then did these children come?’”

And I have put my words in thy mouth, and I have covered thee in the shadow of mine hand, that I may plant the heavens, and lay the foundations of the earth, and say unto Zion, Thou art my people.

For it is a day the watchmen have proclaimed throughout the hill country of Ephraim, - Arise ye and let us go up to Zion, unto Yahweh our God.

By the rivers of Babylon, there, we sat down, yea we wept - when we remembered Zion:

Sing ye praise to Yahweh, who is seated in Zion, Tell among the peoples his doings.

Let Mount Zion rejoice, Let the daughters of Judah exult, Because of thy judgments.

How lovely are thy habitations, O Yahweh of hosts! My soul, longeth - yea even languisheth - for the courts of Yahweh, - My heart and my flesh, shout aloud for a Living GOD. Even the sparrow, hath found a home, And, the swallow, a nest for herself, where she hath laid her young, Thine altars, O Yahweh of hosts, My king and my God! read more.
How happy are they who abide in thy house, - Still are they praising thee. Selah. How happy the men whose strength is in thee, Festive processions are in their heart. Passing through the balsam-vale, A place of fountains, they make it, Yea, with blessings, is it covered by the early rain. They go from strength to strength, Each one appeareth before God in Zion.


For I have bent for me - Judah, As a bow, have I grasped Ephraim, Thus will I rouse up thy sons, O Zion, against the sons of Greece, and will make thee as the sword of a mighty one.

Exult greatly, O daughter of Zion, Shout in triumph, O daughter of Jerusalem, Lo! thy king, cometh unto thee, vindicated and victorious, is he, - lowly, and riding upon an ass, yea, upon a colt, a young ass.

So shall come in for Zion, a Redeemer, Even for such as are turning from transgression in Jacob, - Declareth Yahweh.

For Yahweh hath comforted Zion, He hath comforted all her waste places, And hath made her wilderness like Eden, And her waste plain like the garden of Yahweh, - Joy and gladness, shall be found in her, Thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Then shall come unto thee bending low, The sons of them who had humbled thee, Then shall bow down, unto the soles of thy feet, All they who had despised thee; And they shall call thee - The city of Yahweh, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.

Sing out and rejoice, O daughter of Zion, - For behold me! coming in, and I will make my habitation in thy midst, declareth Yahweh.

Therefore have I put my words in thy mouth, And with the shadow of my hand, have I covered thee, - To plant the heavens, and To lay the foundations of the earth, and To say unto Zion My people, thou art!

Therefore, the ransomed of Yahweh, shall again come unto Zion, with shouts of triumph, With gladness age-abiding on their head, - Joy, and gladness, shall overtake them . Sorrow and sighing have fled away.

Awake, awake, Put on thy strength, O Zion, - Fur on thy beautiful garments, O Jerusalem - thou holy city, For there shah not again come into thee any more the uncircumcised and unclean. Shake thyself from the dust arise - sit down O Jerusalem, - Loose thyself from the bonds of thy neck, O captive! daughter of Zion!

How beautiful, upon the mountains are the feet - Of him That bringeth good tidings, That publisheth peace, That bringeth good tidings of blessing, That publisheth salvation, - That saith unto Zion, Thy God, hath become king. The voice of thy watchmen! They have uplifted a voice Together, do they renew the shout of triumph, - For eye to eye, shall they see, When Yahweh returneth to Zion.

But, in Mount Zion, shall be a delivered remnant which shall be holy, - and the house of Jacob shall possess their own possessions; And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, with the house of Esau for stubble, So shall they kindle upon them, and devour them, - and there shall be no survivor to the house of Esau, for, Yahweh, hath spoken. Then shall they of the South possess Mount Esau, and they of the Lowlands, the Philistines, and they of the Mountain shall possess the field of Ephraim, and the field of Samaria, - and Benjamin shall possess Gilead; read more.
And, they of the captivity of this force pertaining to the sons of Israel, shall possess that of the Canaanites, up to Zarephath, and, they of the captivity of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the South. And saviours shall come up in Mount Zion, to judge the mountain of Esau, - So shall the kingdom, belong unto Yahweh.

Sing out, O daughter of Zion, shout aloud, O Israel, - rejoice and exult with all thy heart, O daughter Jerusalem:

In that day, shall it be said - to Jerusalem, Do not fear, - O Zion, Let not thy hands hang down:

Then the messenger who was speaking with me, said unto me, Proclaim thou, saying, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, I am jealous for Jerusalem, and for Zion, with a great jealousy;

Further, proclaim thou, saying, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, Yet, shall my cities overflow with blessing! So will Yahweh yet, have compassion, upon Zion, and yet make choice of Jerusalem.

Ho! Zion, deliver thyself, - thou that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. For,
