And in the low country they had Eshtaol, Zorah, and Ashnah;

Humtah, and Kiriatharba, which is Hebron, and Zior: nine cities with their villages.

And their strong cities are Ziddim, Zer, Hamath, Rakkath and Chinnereth;

And the coasts of their inheritance was Zorah, Eshtaol, Irshemesh,

And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he sware to give unto their fathers. And they conquered it, and dwelt therein.

And the LORD gave the rest round about according to all that he sware unto their fathers. So that there stood not a man of all their enemies before them. But the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hands.

Did not Achan the son of Zerah trespass in the excommunicate things, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel, so that he alone perished not for his wickedness?'"

and that ye go not unto these nations that remain with you: and that ye neither make mention or swear by the names of their gods, and that ye neither serve them nor bow yourselves unto them.

be sure that the LORD your God will not cast out all these nations before you. But they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges for your sides, and pricks in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.
