Later on, he told them again, "I'm going away, and you'll look for me, but you will die in your sin. You cannot come where I'm going."

“You are from below,” He told them, “I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

So I have told you that you would die under the curse of your sins, for unless you believe that I am the Christ, you will die under the curse of your sins."

then said they to him, what art thou? and Jesus answered them, I am what I just now told you.

Jesus told them, "What have I been telling you all along? I have much to say about you and to condemn you for. But the one who sent me is truthful, and what I've heard from him I declare to the world."

So Jesus told them, "When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I AM, and that I do nothing on my own authority. Instead, I speak only what the Father has taught me.

So Jesus told those Jews who had believed in him, "If you continue in my word, you are really my disciples.

"I know that you are Abraham's descendants. Yet you are trying to kill me because you've not received what I've told you.

“Our father is Abraham!” they replied.

“If you were Abraham’s children,” Jesus told them, “you would do what Abraham did.

But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I heard from God: this did not Abraham.

You are doing your father's actions." They told him, "We're not illegitimate children. We have one Father, God himself."

Jesus told them, "If God were your Father, you would've loved me, because I came from God and am here. I haven't come on my own accord, but he sent me.

Then the Jewish leaders told him, "Now we really know that you have a demon. Abraham died, and so did the prophets, but you say, "If anyone keeps my word, he will never taste death.'

Jesus told them, "Truly, I tell all of you emphatically, before there was an Abraham, I AM!"

“Go,” He told him, “wash in the pool of Siloam” (which means “Sent”). So he left, washed, and came back seeing.

He answered, “The man called Jesus made mud, spread it on my eyes, and told me, ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ So when I went and washed I received my sight.”

the Pharisees therefore ask'd him likewise, how he had received his sight. he told them, he put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and now see.

So a second time they summoned the man who had been blind and told him, “Give glory to God. We know that this man is a sinner!”

He answered them, I told you even now, and ye did not hear; wherefore would ye hear it again? would ye also become his disciples?

“This is an amazing thing,” the man told them. “You don’t know where He is from, yet He opened my eyes!

Jesus told him, "You have seen him; he is the one speaking with you."

“If you were blind,” Jesus told them, “you wouldn’t have sin. But now that you say, ‘We see’—your sin remains.

Jesus told them this parable, but they did not understand what it was that he was saying to them.

Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye did not believe me: the works that I do in my father's name, they testify of me.

but ye do not believe, for ye are not of my sheep, as I told you.

So the sisters sent word to Jesus and told him, "Lord, the one whom you love is ill."

After this, he told the disciples, "Let's go back to Judea."

“Rabbi,” the disciples told Him, “just now the Jews tried to stone You, and You’re going there again?”

He said this, and then He told them, “Our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep, but I’m on My way to wake him up.”

So the disciples told him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will get well."

then Jesus told them plainly, Lazarus is dead.

Then Thomas, who was called the Twin, told his fellow disciples, "Let's go, too, so that we may die with him!"

Martha told Jesus, "Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.

“Your brother will rise again,” Jesus told her.

Martha told him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day."

Jesus then told her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth on me, though he were dead, shall live again.

“Yes, Lord,” she told Him, “I believe You are the Messiah, the Son of God, who comes into the world.”

When she had said this, she went away and called her sister Mary and told her privately, "The Teacher is here and is calling for you!"

When Mary came to where Jesus was and saw Him, she fell at His feet and told Him, “Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died!”

“Where have you put him?” He asked.

“Lord,” they told Him, “come and see.”

“Remove the stone,” Jesus said.

Martha, the dead man’s sister, told Him, “Lord, he’s already decaying. It’s been four days.”

Jesus told her, "I told you that if you believed you would see God's glory, didn't I?"

The man who had died came out, his hands and feet tied with strips of cloth, and his face wrapped in a handkerchief. Jesus told them, "Untie him, and let him go."

But some of them went to the Pharisees, and told them what Jesus had done.

But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, told them, "You don't know anything!

Then the Pharisees told one another, "You see, there is nothing you can do. Look, the world has gone after him!"

They went to Philip (who was from Bethsaida in Galilee) and told him, "Sir, we would like to see Jesus."

Philip went and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus.

Jesus told them, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.

I know that His command is eternal life. So the things that I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me.”

Peter told him, "You must never wash my feet!" Jesus answered him, "Unless I wash you, you cannot be involved with me."

Simon Peter told him, "Lord, not just my feet, but my hands and my head as well!"

“One who has bathed,” Jesus told him, “doesn’t need to wash anything except his feet, but he is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you.”

When Jesus had washed their feet and put on his outer robe, he sat down again and told them, "Do you realize what I've done to you?

After Judas ate the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Therefore Jesus told him, “What you’re doing, do quickly.”

None of those reclining at the table knew why He told him this.

For some of them thought, since Judas was in charge of the [money] bag, that Jesus was telling him, "Buy whatever we need for the [Passover] meal," or that he was [being told] to give [money] to poor people [from it].

“Children, I am with you a little while longer. You will look for Me, and just as I told the Jews, ‘Where I am going you cannot come,’ so now I tell you.

in my father's house are many mansions; however, I have told you, I am going to prepare a place for you:

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Philip told him, "Lord, show us the Father, and that will satisfy us."

"I have told you this while I am still staying with you.

but the advocate, the holy spirit, whom the father will send for my sake, he will explain every thing to you, and make you remember, all that I have told you.

You heard how I told you, 'I am going away, and I will come to you.' If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.

this I have told you now, before it come to pass, that when it is come to pass, ye may believe. my conversation will now be but short with you,

"I have told you these things, that the joy which I have had may remain in you and that your joy may be complete.

I no longer call you slaves, because the slave does not know what his master is doing; I now call you friends, because I have told you everything that I have learned from my Father.

remember what I told you, "the servant is not greater than his master." if they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have been spies upon my discourse, they will be so upon yours.

I have told you these things that ye may not be discouraged.

but these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember what I now tell you. I did not tell you so much at the beginning, because, I was then to be with you.

are your minds so overwhelm'd with sorrow at what I told you?

But when the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into the whole truth, for He will not speak on His own authority but will tell what is told Him, and will announce to you the things that are to come.

Everything the Father has is Mine. This is why I told you that He takes from what is Mine and will declare it to you.

"I have told you these things in allegories, but a time is coming when I shall not do so any longer, but will plainly tell you about the Father.

I have told you these things so that in Me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.”

“Jesus the Nazarene,” they answered.

“I am He,” Jesus told them.

Judas, who betrayed Him, was also standing with them.

When He told them, “I am He,” they stepped back and fell to the ground.

Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he. "if therefore it is me you look for, let these go their way."

Jesus told Peter, "Put your sword back into its sheath. Shouldn't I drink the cup that the Father has given me?"

the same Caiaphas, who in council told the Jews, "it was expedient that one man should die for the people."

Why do you question Me? Question those who heard what I told them. Look, they know what I said.”

Jesus answered him, "If I have said anything wrong, tell me what it was. But if I have told the truth, why do you hit me?"

So Pilate told them, “Take Him yourselves and judge Him according to your law.”

“It’s not legal for us to put anyone to death,” the Jews declared.

The Jewish leaders told him, "It is not legal for us to put anyone to death." This was to fulfill what Jesus had said when he indicated the kind of death he was to die.

Jesus answered, “Are you asking this on your own, or have others told you about Me?”

“What is truth?” said Pilate.

After he had said this, he went out to the Jews again and told them, “I find no grounds for charging Him.

Pilate went outside again and told the Jews, "Look, I am bringing him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against him."

Then Jesus came outside, wearing the victor's crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate told them, "Here is the man!"

When the high priests and the officials saw him, they shouted, "Crucify him! Crucify him!" Pilate told them, "You take him and crucify him. I find no basis for a charge against him."

It was the preparation day for the Passover, and it was about six in the morning. Then he told the Jews, “Here is your king!”

Then the Jewish high priests told Pilate, "Don't write, "The King of the Jews,' but that this fellow said, "I am the King of the Jews.'"

So they told each other, "Let's not tear it. Instead, let's throw dice to see who gets it." This was to fulfill the Scripture that says, "They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my clothing they threw dice." So that is what the soldiers did.

When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he kept loving standing there, he told his mother, "Dear lady, here is your son."

Then he told the disciple, "Here is your mother." And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home.

So she ran off and went to Simon Peter and the other disciple, whom Jesus kept loving. She told them, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!"

They said to her, “Woman, why are you crying?”

“Because they’ve taken away my Lord,” she told them, “and I don’t know where they’ve put Him.”

Jesus asked her, "Dear lady, why are you crying? Who are you looking for?" Thinking he was the gardener, she told him, "Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have put him, and I will take him away."

Jesus told her, "Mary!" She turned around and told him in Hebrew, "Rabbouni!" (which means "Teacher").

“Don’t cling to Me,” Jesus told her, “for I have not yet ascended to the Father. But go to My brothers and tell them that I am ascending to My Father and your Father—to My God and your God.”

Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples, “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them what He had said to her.
