Woe unto him, that covetously gathereth evil gotten goods into his house: that he may set his nest on high, to escape from the power of misfortune. An idle hand maketh poor; but a quick laboring hand maketh rich.

There be some that put their trust in their goods, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches. But no man may deliver his brother, nor make agreement unto God for him, for it costeth more to redeem their souls, so that he must let that alone forever. read more.

O LORD, how manifold are thy works! Right wisely hast thou made them all; yea, the earth is full of thy riches.

O trust not in wrong or robbery; give not yourselves unto vanity. If riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
