Elijah was a man of like nature with us; and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months; and again he prayed, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth its fruit.
Behold, the hire of the workmen who mowed down your fields, which is fraudulently kept back by you, is crying out; and the cries of those who reaped have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.
Is anyone among you sick? let him call for the elders of the assembly; and let them pray over him, having anointed him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and, if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him. Confess, therefore, your sins one to another, and pray for one another, that ye may be healed. A righteous man's inwrought supplication avails much.
And, behold, a leper, coming near, was worshiping Him, saying, "Lord, if Thou art willing, Thou art able to cleanse me." And, stretching forth His hand, He touched him, saying, "I am willing. Be cleansed." And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
And there comes to Him a leper, beseeching Him, and kneeling down to Him, and saying to Him, "If Thou wilt, Thou canst cleanse me!" And Jesus, moved with compassion, and stretching forth His hand, touched him, and saith to him, "I am willing; be cleansed." And straight-way the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed.
And it came to pass, while He was in one of the cities, behold, a man full of leprosy; and, when he saw Jesus, falling on his face, he besought Him, saying, "Lord, if Thou wilt, Thou canst make me clean." And, stretching forth His hand, He touched him, saying, "I am willing; be made clean." And straightway the leprosy departed from him.
But Peter, having put them all forth, and bowing his knees, prayed; and, turning to the body, he said, "Tabitha, arise!" And she opened her eyes; and, seeing Peter, she sat up.
Peter, therefore, was kept in the prison; but prayer was being earnestly made by the assembly to God in his behalf. And, when Herod was about to bring him forth, in that night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains; and guards before the door were keeping the prison. And, behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shined in the cell; and, smiting the side of Peter, he raised him up, saying, "Rise up quickly!" And his chains fell off from his hands.read more.
And the angel said to him, "Gird yourself, and bind on your sandals." And he did so. And he says to him, "Cast your garment around you, and follow me."
