And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,are by no means least among the leaders of Judah:because out of you will come a leaderwho will shepherd My people Israel.”

What man among you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?

“I assure you: Among those born of women no one greater than John the Baptist has appeared, but the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

But He said to them, “What man among you, if he had a sheep that fell into a pit on the Sabbath, wouldn’t take hold of it and lift it out?

But while people were sleeping, his enemy came, sowed weeds among the wheat, and left.

And they discussed among themselves, “We didn’t bring any bread.”

Aware of this, Jesus said, “You of little faith! Why are you discussing among yourselves that you do not have bread?

Then He called a child to Him and had him stand among them.

It must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,

and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave;

Where did John’s baptism come from? From heaven or from men?”They began to argue among themselves, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say to us, ‘Then why didn’t you believe him?’

“But when the tenant farmers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him and take his inheritance!’

“Not during the festival,” they said, “so there won’t be rioting among the people.”

Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.

So they took the money and did as they were instructed. And this story has been spread among Jewish people to this day.

Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns came up and choked it, and it didn’t produce a crop.

Others are sown among thorns; these are the ones who hear the word,

Then Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor except in his hometown, among his relatives, and in his household.”

Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke the loaves. He kept giving them to His disciples to set before the people. He also divided the two fish among them all.

They were discussing among themselves that they did not have any bread.

Then He took a child, had him stand among them, and taking him in His arms, He said to them,

Salt is good, but if the salt should lose its flavor, how can you make it salty? Have salt among yourselves and be at peace with one another.”

Many have undertaken to compile a narrative about the events that have been fulfilled among us,

“The Lord has done this for me. He has looked with favor in these days to take away my disgrace among the people.”

Assuming He was in the traveling party, they went a day’s journey. Then they began looking for Him among their relatives and friends.

After three days, they found Him in the temple complex sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.

Then fear came over everyone, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has risen among us,” and “God has visited His people.”

“What man among you, who has 100 sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the 99 in the open field and go after the lost one until he finds it?

no one will say, ‘Look here!’ or ‘There!’ For you see, the kingdom of God is among you.”

But it must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever is greatest among you must become like the youngest, and whoever leads, like the one serving.

For who is greater, the one at the table or the one serving? Isn’t it the one at the table? But I am among you as the One who serves.

For I tell you, what is written must be fulfilled in Me: And He was counted among the outlaws. Yes, what is written about Me is coming to its fulfillment.”

They lit a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, and Peter sat among them.

So the women were terrified and bowed down to the ground.“Why are you looking for the living among the dead?” asked the men.

And as they were saying these things, He Himself stood among them. He said to them, “Peace to you!”

“I baptize with water,” John answered them. “Someone stands among you, but you don’t know Him.

Jesus answered them, “Stop complaining among yourselves.

At that, the Jews argued among themselves, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?”

But there are some among you who don’t believe.” (For Jesus knew from the beginning those who would not believe and the one who would betray Him.)

And there was a lot of discussion about Him among the crowds. Some were saying, “He’s a good man.” Others were saying, “No, on the contrary, He’s deceiving the people.”

Then the Jews said to one another, “Where does He intend to go so we won’t find Him? He doesn’t intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks, does He?

When they persisted in questioning Him, He stood up and said to them, “The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her.”

I know you are descendants of Abraham, but you are trying to kill Me because My word is not welcome among you.

Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from God, for He doesn’t keep the Sabbath!” But others were saying, “How can a sinful man perform such signs?” And there was a division among them.

Again a division took place among the Jews because of these words.

Therefore Jesus no longer walked openly among the Jews but departed from there to the countryside near the wilderness, to a town called Ephraim. And He stayed there with the disciples.

Now some Greeks were among those who went up to worship at the festival.

So they said to one another, “Let’s not tear it, but cast lots for it, to see who gets it.” They did this to fulfill the Scripture that says: They divided My clothes among themselves, and they cast lots for My clothing. And this is what the soldiers did.

In the evening of that first day of the week, the disciples were gathered together with the doors locked because of their fear of the Jews. Then Jesus came, stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!”

After eight days His disciples were indoors again, and Thomas was with them. Even though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them. He said, “Peace to you!”

During these days Peter stood up among the brothers—the number of people who were together was about 120—and said:

“Therefore, from among the men who have accompanied us during the whole time the Lord Jesus went in and out among us—

beginning from the baptism of John until the day He was taken up from us—from among these, it is necessary that one become a witness with us of His resurrection.”

“Men of Israel, listen to these words: This Jesus the Nazarene was a man pointed out to you by God with miracles, wonders, and signs that God did among you through Him, just as you yourselves know.

Moses said:The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brothers. You must listen to Him in everything He will say to you.

After they had ordered them to leave the Sanhedrin, they conferred among themselves,

However, so this does not spread any further among the people, let’s threaten them against speaking to anyone in this name again.”

For there was not a needy person among them, because all those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,

“This is the Moses who said to the Israelites, God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your brothers.
