And Zechariah said to the angel, "How shall I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well advanced in years."

And Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?"

how he entered the house of God, took and ate the consecrated bread, and also gave some to those with him, which is not lawful for any but the priests to eat?"

Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First take the plank from out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.

Therefore take heed how you hear. For whoever has, to him more will be given; and whoever does not have, even what he thinks he has will be taken from him."

Those who had seen it told them how he who had been demon-possessed was healed.

"Return to your home, and tell how much God has done for you." And he went away, proclaiming throughout the whole city how much Jesus had done for him.

When the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him, and how she had been immediately healed.

Then Jesus answered, "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you and bear with you? Bring your son here."

He said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read?"

If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!"

If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebub.

Now when they bring you before the synagogues and rulers and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you are to say;

Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!

Consider the lilies, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin; yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

But if God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith!

"I came to cast fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!

But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!

You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky; but how is it you do not know how to interpret this present time?

O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those who are sent to you! How often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, but you were not willing!

So he told a parable to those who were invited, when he noted how they chose the places of honor, saying to them:

Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its taste, how shall it be seasoned?

But when he came to himself, he said, 'How many of my father's hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and here I perish with hunger!

So he called in each one of his master's debtors, and he said to the first, 'How much do you owe my master?'

Then he said to another, 'And how much do you owe?' And he said, 'A hundred measures of wheat.' He said to him, 'Take your bill, and write eighty.'

Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!

And he said to them, "How can they say that the Christ is the Son of David?

David therefore calls him 'Lord,' and how is he his son?"

And as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with beautiful stones and offerings, he said,

Therefore settle it in your minds not to meditate beforehand how you will answer;

And the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to kill him, for they feared the people.

So he went his way and conferred with the chief priests and officers, how he might betray him to them.

And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, "Before the rooster crows today, you will deny me three times."

The women who had come with him from Galilee followed and saw the tomb, and how his body was laid.

He is not here, but is risen! Remember how he told you while he was still in Galilee,

and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and crucified him.

Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread.
