And Joseph, being roused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took his wife,

But He said to them, Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him,

Some fell on stony places, where they did not have much earth. And they sprang up immediately, because they had no deepness of earth.

So the servants of the householder came and said to him, Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? Then where have the darnel come from?

Jesus spoke all these things to the crowds in parables, and He did not speak to them without a parable,

and said to his servants, This is John the Baptist. He has risen from the dead, and therefore the powerful works are working in him.

And in the morning, Foul weather today; for the sky is red and gloomy. Hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky, but you cannot see the signs of the times!

How is it that you do not understand that I did not speak to you about loaves, but to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?

Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

The baptism of John, where was it from? From Heaven or from men? And they reasoned within themselves, saying, If we shall say, From Heaven, he will say to us, Why then did you not believe him?

But what do you think? A man had two sons; and he came to the first and said, Son, go work in my vineyard today.

Then He shall answer them, saying, Truly I say to you, Inasmuch as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.

And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them. And they made the passover ready.

In that hour Jesus said to the crowds, Have you come out in order to take Me with swords and clubs, as against a thief? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not lay hands on Me.

But as he was sitting down on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, Have nothing to do with that just man, for today because of Him I have suffered many things in a dream.

Then command that the tomb be made secure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night and steal him away and say to the people, He has risen from the dead. So the last error will be worse than the first.

And go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead. And, behold, He goes before you into Galilee. There you shall see Him. Lo, I have told you.

And king Herod heard of Him (for His name had become well-known,) and he said that John the Baptist had been raised from the dead, and therefore mighty works operate in him.

But hearing Herod said, It is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead!

For Herod feared John, knowing that he was a just and holy man. And he kept him safe. And when he heard him, he did many things and heard him gladly.

And becoming deeply grieved, the king, because of his oath, and those reclining together, he did not wish to reject her.

And the disciples had forgotten to take loaves, and they did not have more than one loaf in the boat with them.

And they kept that saying within themselves, debating with one another what the rising from the dead is.

And the spirit cried out, throwing him into convulsions, and came out of him. And he was like one dead, so that many said, He is dead.

And He answered and said to them, What did Moses command you?

And they reasoned within themselves, saying, If we shall say, From Heaven, he will say, Why then did you not believe him?

And the second took her, and died; neither did he leave any seed. And the third likewise.

And as regards the dead, that they rise, have you not read in the book of Moses how God spoke to him in the Bush, saying, "I am the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob?"
