Jehovah, God of Israel, thou art righteous; for we are a remnant that is escaped, as it is this day. Behold, we are before thee in our trespasses; for there is no standing before thee because of this.
Arise, for this matter is incumbent on thee, and we will be with thee: be of good courage, and do it.
Let, we beseech thee, our rulers take up their station for all the convocation, and, all who, throughout our cities, have married foreign women, let them come in at times appointed, and, with them, the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the glow of the anger of our God be turned from us, concerning this matter.

For inquire, I pray thee, of the former generation, and attend to the researches of their fathers;
Shall not they teach thee, and tell thee, and utter words out of their heart?
If he destroy him from his place, then it shall deny him: I have not seen thee!
They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame, and the tent of the wicked be no more.
Doth it please thee to oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thy hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked?
Were eyes of flesh to thee? or wilt thou see as man saw?
Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as clay, and wilt bring me into dust again.
And these things didst thou hide in thy heart; I know that this was with thee.
Shall not my short life come so soon to an end? O hold thee from me, let me alone, that I may ease myself a little
Should thy fictions make men hold their peace? and shouldest thou mock, and no one make thee ashamed?
But oh that +God would speak, and open his lips against thee;
And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, how that they are the double of what is realised; and know that +God passeth by much of thine iniquity!
And thou shalt have confidence, because there shall be hope; and having searched about thee, thou shalt take rest in safety.
Yea, thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; and many shall seek thy favour.
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowl of the heavens, and they shall tell thee;
Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee; and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee.
Only do not two things unto me; then will I not hide myself from thee.
Withdraw thine hand from me, and let not the fearful dread of thee make me afraid.
Wherefore, thy face, shouldst thou hide? Or count me, as an enemy to thee?
Yet dost thou open thine eyes upon such a one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?
If his days are determined, if the number of his months is with thee, and thou hast appointed his bounds which he must not pass,
Thou wouldest call, and I would answer thee; thou wouldest have a desire after the work of thy hands.
Thou prevailest against him, so that he passeth away; thou changes his estate, and puttest him from thee.
But thy wickedness teacheth thy mouth, and so thou hast chosen thee a crafty tongue.
Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I; and thy lips testify against thee.
Hast thou heard the secret counsel of God, that all wisdom is too little for thee?
Are the consolations of God too small for thee? and the word gently spoken to thee?
Why doth thy heart carry thee away? and why do thine eyes wink?
I will shew thee, listen to me; and what I have seen I will declare;
Shall words of wind have an end? or what provoketh thee that thou answerest?
Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who is he that will strike hands with me?
Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger, shall the earth be forsaken for thee? and shall the rock be removed out of its place?
Will he reason with thee for fear of thee? Will he enter with thee into judgment?
Therefore snares are round about thee, and sudden fear troubleth thee;
Or darkness, that thou canst not see, and floods of waters cover thee.
Reconcile thyself now with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee.
Receive, I pray thee, instruction from his mouth, and lay up his words in thy heart.
He shall give thee a harvest, which in plenty and abundance shall exceed the dust of the earth, and the gold of Ophir like river stones.
Then the Almighty will be thy precious ore, and silver heaped up unto thee;
Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he will hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows;
And thou shalt decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee; and light shall shine upon thy ways.
When they cast thee down, thou shalt say, There is lifting up; And the humble person he will save.
If thou be innocent, he shall save thee: and through the unguiltiness of thine hands shalt thou be delivered."
For whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?
I cry unto Thee, And Thou dost not answer me, I have stood, and Thou dost consider me.
And yet, I pray thee, O Job, Hear my speech and to all my words give ear.
Lo, I pray thee, I have opened my mouth, My tongue hath spoken in the palate.
Lo, my terror doth not frighten thee, And my burden on thee is not heavy.
Lo, in this thou hast not been righteous, I answer thee, that greater is God than man.
Why dost thou then strive against him? Because he giveth thee no accounts of all his doings?
