In the days of Herod king of Judaea there was a priest called Zechariah, who belonged to the division of Abijah; he had a wife who belonged to the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.
but they had no child, for Elizabeth was barren. Both of them were advanced in years.
When he did come out he could not speak to them, so they realized that he had seen a vision in the sanctuary; he made signs to them and remained dumb.

for he had an only daughter about twelve years old and she was dying. As Jesus went the crowds kept crushing him,
and a woman who had had a hemorrhage for twelve years which no one could cure,
Jesus said, "Somebody did touch me, for I felt power had passed from me."
So when the woman saw she had not escaped notice, she came trembling, and falling down before him she told before all the people why she had touched him and how she had been instantly cured.
Her parents were amazed, but he charged them not to tell anyone what had happened.

some that Elijah had appeared, and others that one of the ancient prophets had arisen.
