Is there any number to his armies? and upon whom does not his light arise?

"The ghosts of the dead writhe under the waters along with those who live there with them.

Sheol [is] naked before him, and there is no covering for Abaddon.

Truly, there is no deceit in my lips, and my tongue does not say what is false.

His outcry, will GOD hear, when there cometh upon him distress?

If his children be multiplied, for them, there is the sword, and, his offspring, shall not be filled with bread;

He goes to rest full of wealth, but does so for the last time: on opening his eyes, he sees it there no longer.

There shall reach him - like waters - terrors, By night, a storm-wind hath stolen him away;

Surely there is for silver a source, And a place for the gold they refine;

“[As for] the earth, out of it comes food,
But underneath [its surface, down deep] it is turned over as fire.

There is found a place, whose stones are clean Sapphires, and where the clots of the earth are gold.

There is a path which no fowl knows, and which the falcon's eye has not seen:

The proud animals have not trodden it, nor has the fierce lion passed by there.

There putteth he his hand upon the stony rocks, and overthroweth the mountains.

There is nothing so worthy, or so excellent, as once to be named unto her: for perfect wisdom goeth far beyond them all.

God understands how to get there; he knows where they live.

because I saved [the] needy who cried for help, and [I saved] [the] orphan for whom [there was] no helper.

"I used to say: "I will die in my home. I'm going to live as many days as there are grains of sand on the shore.

There are turned upon me terrors, - Chased away as with a wind, is mine abundance, and, as a cloud, hath passed away my prosperity.

Now, therefore, over myself, my soul poureth itself out, There seize me days of affliction:

The flesh is gone from my bones, and they give me no rest; there is no end to my pains.

"Surely someone must not send a hand against [the] needy when, in his misfortune, [there is] a cry of help for them.

When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness.

I boiled within me, and rested not, There confronted me - days of affliction;

For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?

Is there not calamity, for the perverse? and misfortune, for the workers of iniquity?

If I see any perishing without clothing, And there is no covering to the needy,

Haven’t the members of my household said,
“Who is there who has not had enough to eat at Job’s table?”

Instead of wheat, let there come forth bramble, and, instead of barley, a bad-smelling weed! Ended are the words of Job.

So these three men ceased answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes [and could not be persuaded otherwise by them].

And Elihu seeth that there is no answer in the mouth of the three men, and his anger burneth.

But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty gives him understanding.

And unto you I attend, And lo, there is no reasoner for Job, Or answerer of his sayings among you.

And I have waited because they do not speak, because they stand [there] [and] no longer answer.

I speak, and there is refreshment to me, I open my lips and answer.

I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.

For when God doth once command a thing, there should no man be curious to search whether it be right.

Pain is sent on him as a punishment, while he is on his bed; there is no end to the trouble in his bones;

If there is by him a messenger, An interpreter -- one of a thousand, To declare for man his uprightness:

If there are words -- answer me, Speak, for I have a desire to justify thee.

If there are not -- hearken thou to me, Keep silent, and I teach thee wisdom.

Where is there such one as Job, that drinketh up scornfulness like water?

For thou should not say, There shall be no visitation to a man, [whereas] visitation [is] to him from LORD.

And if there is understanding, hear this, Give ear to the voice of my words.

There is no darkness nor death-shade, For workers of iniquity to be hidden there;

He strikes them {where the wicked stood}, {where there are onlookers},

that the godless man may not reign, that there be no one to ensnare the people.

"There is a great cry and complaint made by them that are oppressed with violence; yea, every man complaineth upon the cruel arm of tyrants.

There they cry, and He doth not answer, Because of the pride of evil doers.

And, now, because there is not, He hath appointed His anger, And He hath not known in great extremity.

Be patient with me a little longer, and I will inform you,
for there is still more to be said on God’s behalf.

Even so would he have allured thee out of the jaws of distress into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and the supply of thy table would be full of fatness.

Because there is wrath, beware lest it take thee away through chastisement: then a great ransom could not avail thee.

Prolong not thou the time, till there come a night for thee, to set other people in thy stead.

Behold, God is of a mighty high power: Where is there such a guide and lawgiver as he?

Lo, God is high, And we know not the number of His years, Yea, there is no searching.

Then there comes a roaring sound;
God thunders with His majestic voice.
He does not restrain the lightning
when His rumbling voice is heard.

There is no searching out of the Ruler of all: his strength and his judging are great; he is full of righteousness, doing no wrong.

To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, in which there is no man;

To give water to the land where there is waste and destruction, and to make the dry land green with young grass?

Is there a father for the rain, or who fathered [the] drops of dew?

It lives on a rock and spends the night there, on a rocky crag and a fortress.

From there it spies out [the] prey; its eyes look from far away.

And his brood gulp up blood, And where the pierced are -- there is he!

For food do mountains bear for him, And all the beasts of the field play there.

And why? There dare none be so bold as to raise him up. Who is able to stand before me?

Who ever went against me, and got the better of me? There is no one under heaven!

“Who can open the doors of his face?
Around his teeth there is terror.

out of his nostrils there goeth smoke, like as out of a hot seething pot.

There is strength in his neck. Terror dances before him.

There is no flaw in his body's armor; it is firmly fixed on him and unbreachable.

If any man draw out a sword at him, it shall not hurt him: there may neither spear, javelin, nor breast plate abide him.

There is not on the earth his like, That is made without terror.

"I know that thou hast power over all things, and that there is no thought hid unto thee.

Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they consoled him, and comforted him over all the trouble that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and everyone a ring of gold.

And Jehovah blessed the latter state of Job more than his beginning: and there will be to him fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she-asses.

And there will be to him seven sons and three daughters.

And there have not been found women fair as the daughters of Job in all the land, and their father doth give to them an inheritance in the midst of their brethren.

For this cause there will be no mercy for sinners when they are judged, and the evil-doers will have no place among the upright,

A psalm of David when he fled from his son Absalom.Lord, how my foes increase!
There are many who attack me.

Many are saying of my soul, 'There is no salvation for him in God.' Selah.

Let there be fear in your hearts, and do no sin; have bitter feelings on your bed, but make no sound. (Selah.)

There are many that say, Who will show us any good? LORD, lift up the light of your countenance upon us.

For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wrongdoing; there is no evil with you.

For there is no stability in their mouth. Their heart is mischiefs, An open grave is their throat, Their tongue they make smooth.

For there is not in death Thy memorial, In Sheol, who doth give thanks to Thee?

Lest he tear as a lion my soul, Rending, and there is no deliverer.

O Jehovah, my God, if I have done this, If there is iniquity in my hands,

{With bald-faced pride} [the] wicked will not seek [God]. There is no God in any of his thoughts.

For he hath said in his heart, "Tush, I shall never be cast down; there shall no harm happen unto me."

Let the arm of the sinner and the evil-doer be broken; go on searching for his sin till there is no more.

Send help, Lord, for mercy has come to an end; there is no more faith among the children of men.

To the Overseer. -- By David. A fool hath said in his heart, 'God is not;' They have done corruptly, They have done abominable actions, There is not a doer of good.

Jehovah from the heavens Hath looked on the sons of men, To see if there is a wise one -- seeking God.

The whole have turned aside, Together they have been filthy: There is not a doer of good, not even one.

There they have feared a fear, For God is in the generation of the righteous.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

Out of the brightness before Him passed His thick clouds,
Hailstones and coals of fire.

They cry, and there is no saviour, On Jehovah, and He doth not answer them.
