Then Herod perceiving he was abused by the Magi, was full of indignation, and sent a detachment who slew all the children that were in Bethlehem and its territory, being under the age of two years, according to the limited time he had learnt of the Magi.

but when he heard that Archelaus reigned in Judea, in the room of his father Herod, he was apprehensive of going thither, till having had a divine warning in a dream, he retired into the district of Galilee:
now John wore a coat made of camels hair, with a leathern girdle about his waist; and his food was locusts and wild hony.
and when Jesus was baptized, he came out of the water: and immediately the heavens seem'd to be parted asunder before him, and he saw the Spirit
of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: at the same time a voice was heard from heaven, saying, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."
Then was Jesus led up by the Spirit into the wilderness, to be tempted by the devil:
After this, Jesus having heard that John was confined in prison, retired into Galilee.
Now as Jesus was walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brethren, Simon, called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting their net into the sea: for they were fishermen.
so that his fame was spread over all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were afflicted with any diseases or pains, demoniacs, lunatics, and paralytics; and he healed them.
Jesus, to avoid this crowd of people, went to a mountain: and when he was set down, his disciples came to him.
Ye have heard that it was said, "Thou shalt not commit adultery,"
but whenever you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face:
and yet I tell you, even Solomon with all his magnificence, was not arrayed like one of these.
the rain descended, the floods came, the winds blew, and beat upon that house: but it fell not, for it was founded upon a rock.
When Jesus was come down from the mountain, a great multitude followed him.
and Jesus held out his hand and touched him, saying, I will, be thou clean. and immediately he was cured of his leprosy.
when Jesus heard it, he was surpriz'd, and said to his followers, I profess I have not met with such an instance of faith, no not in Israel.
and Jesus said to the centurion, go thy way, what you believed could be done, is effected for you. and his servant was healed in that very hour.

when the king was informed of this, he was greatly incensed, and having order'd his forces to march, he put those murderers to death, and laid their city in ashes.
accordingly they went about the streets, and assembled all they met indifferently, both good and bad: so that the hall was furnished with guests.
but not a man was able to answer him a word, and from that time there was no body so hardy as to ask him any more questions.
As Jesus was going from the temple, his disciples came and desired him to take a view of the buildings.
And when he was upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came to him in private, and said, tell us when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of this age?
for the desolation will be so dreadful, the like was never seen since the beginning of the world, no, nor ever shall be again.
for unless the time was to be short, very few could escape, but for the sake of the converts the time shall be short.
