Because of your great skill in trading, you have made yourself very wealthy. You have become arrogant because of your wealth.' Therefore the Lord Jehovah says: Because you have made your heart like (consider yourself to be like) the heart of God, I will bring strangers, ruthless nations, upon you. They will draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom and defile your splendor. They will throw you into a pit. You will die a violent death in the sea. You will no longer say that you are a god when you face those who kill you. You will be a human, not a god, in the hands of those who kill you.' You will die at the hands of foreigners like a godless person.' I have spoken, declares Jehovah.

At the end of twelve months he was walking in the royal palace of Babylon. Dear brothers, do not be sad or angry with yourselves that you sold me. God sent me ahead of you to save lives. The famine has been in the land for two years. Even there your hand will lead me. Your right hand will lay hold of me.



Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.


He is the one who will rescue you from the bird hunter's trap (fowler's snare) and from deadly plagues.

Jehovah of Hosts will defend Jerusalem like a hovering bird. He will defend it and rescue it. He will pass over it and protect it.



O Lord Jehovah [Almighty], the strong one who saves me, you have covered my head in the day of battle.

Jehovah takes away and He gives riches. He brings low and lifts up high. He raises the poor from the dust. He lifts up the needy from the dunghill to set them among the princes. He causes them to inherit a throne of glory (honor). The pillars of the earth are Jehovah's. He sets the world on them.






The people in their bitterness said David should be stoned. This caused him great distress. They were thinking of their sons and daughters. But David found strength in Jehovah his God.


([Psalm of Solomon]) If Jehovah does not build the house, it is vain for the builders to work on it. If Jehovah does not protect a city, it is vain for the guard to stay alert. It is vain to work hard for the food you eat by getting up early and going to bed late. Jehovah gives food to those he loves while they sleep.

Jehovah is good to all and his mercies are over all his works.
