Unless the Lord limited those days, no one would survive. But He limited those days because of the elect, whom He chose.

The Lord is my strength and my shield;
my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.
Therefore my heart rejoices,
and I praise Him with my song.

To You, my strength, I sing praises,
because God is my stronghold—
my faithful God.

David said to the Philistine: “You come against me with a dagger, spear, and sword, but I come against you in the name of Yahweh of Hosts, the God of Israel’s armies—you have defied Him.

David defeated the Philistine with a sling and a stone. Even though David had no sword, he struck down the Philistine and killed him.

The God of old is your dwelling place,

But the Lord is faithful; He will strengthen and guard you from the evil one.

In the fear of the Lord one has strong confidence
and his children have a refuge.

Each will be like a shelter from the wind,
a refuge from the rain,
like streams of water in a dry land
and the shade of a massive rock in an arid land.

He will say: "Where are their gods, the 'rock' they found refuge in? Who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise up and help you; let it be a shelter for you. See now that I alone am He; there is no God but Me. I bring death and I give life; I wound and I heal. No one can rescue [anyone] from My hand.

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.

I give them eternal life, and they will never perish-ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. The Father and I are one."

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape so that you are able to bear it.

then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment,

For the eyes of Yahweh roam throughout the earth to show Himself strong for those whose hearts are completely His. You have been foolish in this matter. Therefore, you will have wars from now on.”

Look, I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go. I will bring you back to this land, for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”

He watches over His nest like an eagle
and hovers over His young;
He spreads His wings, catches him,

Anyone trusting in his riches will fall,
but the righteous will flourish like foliage.

Wealth is not profitable on a day of wrath,
but righteousness rescues from death.

No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. I will be with you, just as I was with Moses. I will not leave you or forsake you.

Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For it is the Lord your God who goes with you; He will not leave you or forsake you.”

He guards the steps of His faithful ones,
but the wicked perish in darkness,
for a man does not prevail by his own strength.

for the Lord will be your confidence
and will keep your foot from a snare.

The horse is a false hope for safety;
it provides no escape by its great power.

A horse is prepared for the day of battle,
but victory comes from the Lord.

God is known as a stronghold
in its citadels.

A king is not saved by a large army;
a warrior will not be delivered by great strength.

They went out with all their armies-a multitude as numerous as the sand on the seashore-along with a vast number of horses and chariots. So Joshua and his whole military force surprised them at the waters of Merom and attacked them. The Lord handed them over to Israel, and they struck them down, pursuing them as far as Great Sidon and Misrephoth-maim, and to the east as far as the valley of Mizpeh. They struck them down, leaving no survivors.

You sinners frustrate the plans of the afflicted,
but the Lord is his refuge.

For he will rescue the poor who cry out and the afflicted who have no helper. He will have pity on the poor and helpless and save the lives of the poor. He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious in his sight.

For if you turn away and cling to the rest of these nations remaining among you, and if you intermarry or associate with them and they with you, know for certain that the Lord your God will not continue to drive these nations out before you. They will become a snare and a trap for you, a scourge for your sides and thorns in your eyes, until you disappear from this good land the Lord your God has given you.

But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the proclamation might be fully made through me and all the Gentiles might hear. So I was rescued from the lion’s mouth.

See, your house is left to you desolate.

But whoever listens to me will live securely
and be free from the fear of danger.”

may He bless these boys.
And may they be called by my name

“I am going to send an angel before you to protect you on the way and bring you to the place I have prepared.

The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,
