'Nor' in the Bible
Nor do men light a lamp and put it under the bushel, but upon the lamp-stand, and it shines for all who are in the house.
nor by the earth, because it is the footstool of his feet; nor by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King.
but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust spoils, and where thieves do not dig through nor steal;
For this cause I say unto you, Do not be careful about your life, what ye should eat and what ye should drink; nor for your body what ye should put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than raiment?
Look at the birds of the heaven, that they sow not, nor reap, nor gather into granaries, and your heavenly Father nourishes them. Are ye not much more excellent than they?
Give not that which is holy to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before the swine, lest they trample them with their feet, and turning round rend you.
A good tree cannot produce bad fruits, nor a worthless tree produce good fruits.
Nor do men put new wine into old skins, otherwise the skins burst and the wine is poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; but they put new wine into new skins, and both are preserved together.
nor scrip for the way, nor two body coats, nor sandals, nor a staff: for the workman is worthy of his nourishment.
And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, as ye go forth out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
The disciple is not above his teacher, nor the bondman above his lord.
For John has come neither eating nor drinking, and they say, He has a demon.
All things have been delivered to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son but the Father, nor does any one know the Father, but the Son, and he to whom the Son may be pleased to reveal him.
How he entered into the house of God, and ate the shewbread, which it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those with him, but for the priests only?
He shall not strive or cry out, nor shall any one hear his voice in the streets;
And whosoever shall have spoken a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age nor in the coming one.
For this cause I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear nor understand;
Do ye not yet understand nor remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many hand-baskets ye took up?
nor the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
And Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God.
For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels of God in heaven.
And no one was able to answer him a word, nor did any one dare from that day to question him any more.
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for ye shut up the kingdom of the heavens before men; for ye do not enter, nor do ye suffer those that are entering to go in.
But pray that your flight may not be in winter time nor on sabbath:
for then shall there be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, nor ever shall be;
Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.
For there is nothing hidden which shall not be made manifest; nor does any secret thing take place, but that it should come to light.
And whatsoever place shall not receive you nor hear you, departing thence, shake off the dust which is under your feet for a testimony to them.
And Jesus knowing it, says to them, Why reason ye because ye have no bread? Do ye not yet perceive nor understand? Have ye your heart yet hardened?
And he sent him to his house, saying, Neither enter into the village, nor tell it to any one in the village.
And Jesus answering said to them, Do not ye therefore err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God?
For when they rise from among the dead they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as angels who are in the heavens.
But when they shall lead you away to deliver you up, be not careful beforehand as to what ye shall say, nor prepare your discourse: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak; for ye are not the speakers, but the Holy Spirit.
and him that is upon the housetop not come down into the house, nor enter into it to take away anything out of his house;
But of that day or of that hour no one knows, neither the angels who are in heaven, nor the Son, but the Father.
But he denied, saying, I know not nor understand what thou sayest. And he went out into the vestibule; and a cock crew.
For he shall be great before the Lord, and he shall drink no wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother's womb.
And persons engaged in military service also asked him saying, And we, what should we do? And he said to them, Oppress no one, nor accuse falsely, and be satisfied with your pay.
For there is no good tree which produces corrupt fruit, nor a corrupt tree which produces good fruit;
for every tree is known by its own fruit, for figs are not gathered from thorns, nor grapes vintaged from a bramble.
For John the baptist has come neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and ye say, He has a demon.
For there is nothing hid which shall not become manifest, nor secret which shall not be known and come to light.
And he said to them, Take nothing for the way, neither staff, nor scrip, nor bread, nor money; nor to have two body-coats apiece.
Carry neither purse nor scrip nor sandals, and salute no one on the way.
But no one having lit a lamp sets it in secret, nor under the corn-measure, but on the lamp-stand, that they who enter in may see the light.
but there is nothing covered up which shall not be revealed, nor secret that shall not be known;
And he said to his disciples, For this cause I say unto you, Be not careful for life, what ye shall eat, nor for the body, what ye shall put on.
Consider the ravens, that they sow not nor reap; which have neither storehouse nor granary; and God feeds them. How much better are ye than the birds?
Consider the lilies how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I say unto you, Not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed as one of these.
Sell what ye possess and give alms; make to yourselves purses which do not grow old, a treasure which does not fail in the heavens, where thief does not draw near nor moth destroy.
But that bondman who knew his own lord's will, and had not prepared himself nor done his will, shall be beaten with many stripes;
And he said also to him that had invited him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, nor thy kinsfolk, nor rich neighbours, lest it may be they also should invite thee in return, and a recompense be made thee.
It is proper neither for land nor for dung; it is cast out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm is fixed, so that those who desire to pass hence to you cannot, nor do they who desire to cross from there pass over unto us.
nor shall they say, Lo here, or, Lo there; for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.
And they will say to you, Lo here, or Lo there; go not, nor follow them.
but they who are counted worthy to have part in that world, and the resurrection from among the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage;
and if I should ask you, ye would not answer me at all, nor let me go;
nor Herod either, for I remitted you to him, and behold, nothing worthy of death is done by him.
who have been born, not of blood, nor of flesh's will, nor of man's will, but of God.
And they asked him and said to him, Why baptisest thou then, if thou art not the Christ, nor Elias, nor the prophet?
The woman says to him, Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst nor come here to draw.
Jesus says to her, Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when ye shall neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem worship the Father.
And the Father who has sent me himself has borne witness concerning me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor have seen his shape,
when therefore the crowd saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they got into the ships, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
They said to him therefore, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye know neither me nor my Father. If ye had known me, ye would have known also my Father.
Jesus answered, Neither has this man sinned nor his parents, but that the works of God should be manifested in him.
nor consider that it is profitable for you that one man die for the people, and not that the whole nation perish.
Verily, verily, I say to you, The bondman is not greater than his lord, nor the sent greater than he who has sent him.
the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see him nor know him; but ye know him, for he abides with you, and shall be in you.
and these things they will do because they have not known the Father nor me.
for thou wilt not leave my soul in hades, nor wilt thou give thy gracious one to see corruption.
he, seeing it before, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that neither has he been left in hades nor his flesh seen corruption.
And having called them, they charged them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter, for thy heart is not upright before God.
And he was three days without seeing, and neither ate nor drank.
Now therefore why tempt ye God, by putting a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear?
and announce customs which it is not lawful for us to receive nor practise, being Romans.
nor is served by men's hands as needing something, himself giving to all life and breath and all things;
For ye have brought these men, who are neither temple-plunderers, nor speak injuriously of your goddess.
And they have been informed concerning thee, that thou teachest all the Jews among the nations apostasy from Moses, saying that they should not circumcise their children, nor walk in the customs.
For Sadducees say there is no resurrection, nor angel, nor spirit; but Pharisees confess both of them.
And when it was day, the Jews, having banded together, put themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they should kill Paul.
Do not thou then be persuaded by them, for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, who have put themselves under a curse neither to eat nor drink till they kill him; and now they are ready waiting the promise from thee.
and neither in the temple did they find me discoursing to any one, or making any tumultuous gathering together of the crowd, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city;
Whereupon they found me purified in the temple, with neither crowd nor tumult. But it was certain Jews from Asia,
Paul answering for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar, have I offended in anything.
And neither sun nor stars appearing for many days, and no small storm lying on us, in the end all hope of our being saved was taken away.
And they said to him, For our part, we have neither received letters from Judaea concerning thee, nor has any one of the brethren who has arrived reported or said anything evil concerning thee.
For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
nor because they are seed of Abraham are all children: but, In Isaac shall a seed be called to thee.
So then it is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shews mercy.
It is right not to eat meat, nor drink wine, nor do anything in which thy brother stumbles, or is offended, or is weak.
But we speak wisdom among the perfect; but wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who come to nought.
I have given you milk to drink, not meat, for ye have not yet been able, nor indeed are ye yet able;
So that neither the planter is anything, nor the waterer; but God the giver of the increase.
But for me it is the very smallest matter that I be examined of you or of man's day. Nor do I even examine myself.
so that let us celebrate the feast, not with old leaven, nor with leaven of malice and wickedness, but with unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
Do ye not know that unrighteous persons shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not err: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who make women of themselves, nor who abuse themselves with men,
