And in the morning, ‘There will be a storm today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but cannot discern the signs of the times?

But Jesus, aware of this, said, You men of little faith, why do you discuss among yourselves that you have no bread?

Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”

Then He warned the disciples that they should tell no one that He was the Christ.

And lifting up their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus Himself alone.

But he answered and said to one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius?

But Jesus answered, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They *said to Him, “We are able.”

But Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them.

Now in the morning, when He was returning to the city, He became hungry.

Seeing a lone fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it except leaves only; and He *said to it, “No longer shall there ever be any fruit from you.” And at once the fig tree withered.

And answering Jesus, they said, “We do not know.” He also said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

But they paid no attention and went their way, one to his own farm, another to his business,

And they *sent their disciples to Him, along with the Herodians, saying, “Teacher, we know that You are truthful and teach the way of God in truth, and defer to no one; for You are not partial to any.

asking, “Teacher, Moses said, ‘If a man dies having no children, his brother as next of kin shall marry his wife, and raise up children for his brother.’

Now while the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them a question:

No one was able to answer Him a word, nor did anyone dare from that day on to ask Him another question.

For I say to you, from now on you will not see Me until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

But I say to you, I will not drink of this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in My Father’s kingdom.”

Now he who was betraying Him gave them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the one; seize Him.”

Now the chief priests and the whole Council kept trying to obtain false testimony against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death.

Then the high priest tore his robes and said, “He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, you have now heard the blasphemy;

Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, and a servant-girl came to him and said, “You too were with Jesus the Galilean.”

But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what you are talking about.”

Now when morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people conferred together against Jesus to put Him to death;

Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor questioned Him, saying, “Are You the King of the Jews?” And Jesus said to him, It is as you say.”

Now at the feast the governor was accustomed to release for the people any one prisoner whom they wanted.

He saved others; He cannot save Himself. He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him.
