Then He said to them, "Which of you, if his son or ox falls into a well, will not at once pull him out on the Sabbath?"

She said to Him, "You have nothing to draw with, sir, and the well is deep. Where do you get your living water?

So the sisters sent this message to Jesus, "Lord, listen! the one you love so well is sick."

So it is with you; unless in your ecstatic speaking you speak a message that is clearly intelligible, how can the message spoken by you be understood? You might just as well be talking to the air!

But if she does leave him, she must remain single, or better, be reconciled to her husband. I instruct the husband too not to divorce his wife.

Well, if a male child undergoes circumcision on the Sabbath, to keep the law of Moses from being broken, are you angry with me for making a man perfectly well on the Sabbath?

To say no more, it is a mark of moral failure among you to have lawsuits at all with one another. Why not rather suffer being wronged? Why not suffer being robbed?

Being circumcised or not being circumcised has no value, but keeping God's commands is important.

Brothers, stop being children in intelligence, but as to evil keep on being babies; and yet as to intelligence be men of maturity.

Otherwise, what do those people mean who submit to being baptized on behalf of their dead? If the dead are never raised at all, why do they submit to being baptized on their behalf?

For the message of the cross is nonsense to those who are in the process of being destroyed, but it is the power of God to those who are in the process of being saved.

Who is weak without my being weak too? Who is caused to fall without my being fired with indignation?
