Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
Of them are the patriarchs, and from them, according to the flesh, is the Christ, who is God over all, forever blessed. Amen.
But it is not as though the word of God had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel,
In other words, it is not the children of the flesh who are the children of God, but the children of the promise are reckoned as descendants.
For he says to Moses, "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."
Therefore he has mercy on whom he wills, and he hardens the heart of whom he wills.
You will say to me then, "Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?"

As indeed he says in Hosea: "I will call them who were not my people 'my people,' and her who was not beloved I will call 'my beloved.'"
What shall we say, then? That Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, righteousness through faith;
but Israel, who pursued the law of righteousness, has not attained that law.
as it is written: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone that will make men stumble, and a rock that will make them fall; and he who believes in him will not be put to shame."
For Christ is the end of the law, that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, "The man who does those things shall live by them."
But the righteousness based on faith says, "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down)
or "Who will descend into the abyss?" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
The scripture says, "No one who believes in him will be put to shame."
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and bestows his riches on all who call upon him.
For, "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
How then can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without a preacher?
And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach good news!"
But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?"
Again I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, "I will make you jealous by those who are not a nation; by a foolish nation I will make you angry."
But Isaiah is very bold and says, "I was found by those who did not seek me; I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me."

Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.

He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.
If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer walking in love. Do not by your eating destroy the one for whom Christ died.

But he who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not act from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.
We who are strong ought to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
For even Christ did not please himself; but, as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me."

I commend to you Phoebe our sister, who is a servant of the church in Cenchrea,

greet also the church that meets in their house. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who was the first convert of Asia for Christ.
Greet Apelles, who is approved in Christ. Greet those who belong to the household of Aristobulus.
Greet Herodion, my kinsman. Greet those in the household of Narcissus who are in the Lord.

Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them.

I, Tertius, who wrote this letter, greet you in the Lord.
Gaius, who is my host and the host of the whole church, greets you. Erastus, the treasurer of the city, greets you, and Quartus, our brother.
Now to him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which was kept secret for long ages
to the church of God which is at Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:
who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
God is faithful, by whom you were called into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know God, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.
but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
therefore, as it is written, "Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord."
Yet we do speak a wisdom among the mature, a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away.
But, as it is written, "No eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived what God has prepared for those who love him,"
For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man's spirit which is in him? Even so no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.
Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand the things freely given to us by God.
"For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.
I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not acquitted by this. It is the Lord who judges me.
Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts. Then every man will receive his praise from God.
For who regards you as different? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?
For this reason I have sent to you Timothy, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, and he will remind you of my ways which are in Christ, just as I teach everywhere in every church.

For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge?
So if you have disputes about such matters, do you appoint them as judges who are of no account in the church?
Or do you not know that he who joins himself to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, "The two shall become one flesh."
But he who unites himself with the Lord is one spirit with him.
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;
But to the rest I say, not the Lord, that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he must not divorce her.
If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she must not divorce him.

But if you marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin marries, she has not sinned. Yet those who marry will have troubles in this flesh, and I am trying to spare you.
I mean, brethren, the appointed time has grown very short; so that from now on, those who have wives should live as though they had none,
and those who mourn, as though they were not mourning; and those who rejoice, as though they were not rejoicing; and those who buy, as though they did not possess;
