But there were left of the people, to Jehoahaz, but fifty horsemen and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen - for the king of Syria had destroyed them and made them like threshed chaff.

And he did that pleased the LORD, yet not like David his father: but did in all things as Joash his father did.

Twenty years old was he when he was made king: and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that was right in the eyes of the LORD his God, like David his father:

And Uriah the priest made an altar in all points like to the pattern which king Ahaz had sent from Damascus, and had finished it by the king's coming from Damascus.

like as the kings and lords of the earth, which build themselves special places:

For my sighs come before I eat, and my roarings fall out like flowing water.

but it is man, that is born unto misery, like as the sparks fly up out of the hot coals.

Insomuch that they run into darkness by fair day, and grope about them at the noonday, like as in the night.

Therefore take seven oxen and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, offer up also for yourselves a burnt offering: and let my servant Job pray for you. Him will I accept, and not deal with you after your foolishness: in that ye have not spoken the thing which is right, like as my servant Job hath done."

And he shall be like a tree planted by the waterside, that will bring forth his fruit in due season. His leaf, also, shall not wither; and, look, whatsoever he doeth, it shall prosper.

As for the ungodly, it is not so with them: but they are like the chaff, which the wind scattereth away from the face of the earth.

Thou shalt bruise them with a rod of iron, and break them in pieces like a potter's vessel."

lest he devour my soul like a lion, and tear it in pieces, while there is none to help.
