"Also whenever you fast, you must not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they put on a gloomy countenance, to let people see them fasting. I solemnly say to you, they already have their reward.

"Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten bridesmaids who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

"For it is just like a man who was going on a long journey from his homeland, who called to him his slaves and turned his property over to them.

And just as soon as He started to come up out of the water, He saw the heavens split open and the Spirit coming down like a dove to enter Him.

And they were dumbfounded at His teaching, for He was teaching them like one who had authority to teach, and not like the scribes.

Then he got up and at once picked up his pallet, and went out before them all. The result was that they were all dumbfounded and began to praise God and say, "We have never seen anything like this before."

So to what can I compare the men of this age, and what are they like?

A curse on you, because you are like unmarked graves which men walk over without knowing it!"
