Immediately a rooster crowed a second time. Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said to him: "Before a rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times." And he broke down and wept.
Pilate spake to him again, and said, will you make no defence for your self? don't you hear what they urge against you?
The crowd [then] went to Pilate and asked him to do what he was accustomed to doing for them [i.e., release a prisoner of their choosing during the Passover Festival].
And Pilate again said in answer to them, What then am I to do to him to whom you give the name of the King of the Jews?
And they cried out again, Crucify him. Then Pilate said to them, Why, what evil hath he done?
And Pilate said to them, Why, what evil has he done? But their cry was the louder, To the cross!
And Pilate, desiring to do what was pleasing to the people, let Barabbas go free, and gave up Jesus, when he had been whipped, to be put to death on the cross.
And he was nailed to the cross; and they made a division of his clothing among them, putting to the decision of chance what everyone was to take.
And the superscription of what he was accused of was written up: The King of the Jews.
and, at the ninth hour, Jesus, uttered a cry, with a loud voice - Eloi! Eloi! lama sabachthanei? which is, being translated - My God! My God!to what end, didst thou forsake me?
Then she went and told those disciples who had been with Him what had happened. They were sorrowful and began to cry.
And they went away and gave news of it to the rest; and they had no belief in what was said.
Afterwards he appeared at table to the eleven themselves and reproached them for their unbelief and dulness of mind, because they had not believed those who saw him risen from the dead. [But they excused themselves, saying, "This age of lawlessness and unbelief lies under the sway of Satan, who will not allow what lies under the unclean spirits to understand the truth and power of God; therefore," they said to Christ, "reveal your righteousness now." Christ answered them, "The term of years for Satan's power has now expired, but other terrors are at hand. I was delivered to death on behalf of sinners, that they might return to the truth and sin no more, that they might inherit that glory of righteousness which is spiritual and imperishable in heaven."]

They both did what was right in God's sight [by] living blamelessly according to all the commandments and requirements of the Lord.
And Zechariah said to the angel, "By what will I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is advanced {in years}!"
Now you will keep silent and be unable to talk until the day when this takes place, because you did not believe what I told you, for it will be fulfilled at the proper time."
"This is what the Lord has done for me when He smiled upon me to take away my disgrace among men."
But she was greatly troubled at his words, and said to herself, What may be the purpose of these words?
Then said Mary to the angel, what shall this be without any intercourse with man?
The angel answered her, "The holy Spirit will come upon you, the power of the Most High will overshadow you; hence what is born will be called holy, Son of God.
Then Mary said, "I am the Lord's slave. May what you say take place with me." Then the angel left her.
"Blessed mother of the most blessed offspring! what an honour is this, that I should be visited by the mother of our Lord!
And blessed [is] she who believed that [there] will be a fulfillment to what was spoken to her from the Lord!"
And they made signs to his father, to say what name was to be given to him.
And all who had word of them kept them in their minds and said, What will this child be? For the hand of the Lord was with him.
When the angels had left them and returned to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go straight to Bethlehem and see what has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”
when they had seen him, they divulged what the angel had told them concerning this child.
And all who heard [it] were astonished concerning what had been said to them by the shepherds.
But Mary treasured up all these words, pondering in her heart what they might mean.
And the shepherds went back glorifying God and praising him for all that they had heard and seen in fulfilment of what they had been told.
and to offer a sacrifice according to what was stated in the law of the Lord, "a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons."
And full of the Spirit he came into the Temple; and when the father and mother came in with the child Jesus, to do with him what was ordered by the law,
"Master, you may now allow your servant to be released [i.e., die] in peace, according to what you said.
A Light for revelation to the Gentiles [to disclose what was previously unknown],
And [to bring] the praise and honor and glory of Your people Israel.”
And his father and mother were astonished at what was said about him.
"What made you search for me?" he answered. "Did not you know that I must be in my Father's House?"
But they did not understand what He said to them.
This was according to what is written in the book containing the words of Isaiah, the prophet [Isa. 40:3ff], "The voice of a man who speaks out in the desert [urging people] to make the road for the Lord ready [for Him to travel]; to make a straight pathway for Him [to walk on].
Every hollow must be filled up, And every mountain and hill leveled. What is crooked is to be made straight, And the rough roads are to be made smooth,
And the people put questions to him, saying, What have we to do?
Then tax-farmers came to him for baptism and said to him, Master, what have we to do?
And he said to them, "Collect no more than {what you are ordered to}."
And men of the army put questions to him, saying, And what have we to do? And he said to them, Do no violent acts to any man, and do not take anything without right, and let your payment be enough for you.
Now as people were anticipating [what would happen] and everyone was wondering in their hearts if perhaps John were the Christ [i.e., God's specially chosen one],
They all applauded him, and were surprized, that what he said, was delivered with so much grace. but they objected, is not this the son of Joseph?
upon which he said, no doubt you will urge me with this proverb, "physician heal thy self. what we have heard you perform'd in Capernaum, do likewise here in your own country."
They were utterly amazed at what he taught, because his message was spoken with authority.
Let us be! what have we to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? have you come to put an end to us? I have knowledge who you are, the Holy One of God.
And amazement came upon all, and they spake together, one with another, saying, What is this word? for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
But He said to them, "To other towns also I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God, for that is what I was sent to do."
and he charg'd him not to tell any man: but go, said he, present your self to the priest, and offer what the law requires for your purification, that it may be an evidence to them.
But the news about what Jesus had done spread all the more widely, so that large crowds assembled to listen to Him and to be healed of their sicknesses.
And not finding by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop, and let him down through the tiles with his couch into the midst before Jesus.
And the scribes, and the Pharisees, began to think saying, "What fellow is this: which speaketh blasphemy? Who can forgive sins, but God only?"
When Jesus perceived their thoughts, he answered and said unto them, "What think ye in your hearts?
in what is it easier to say, Your sins are forgiven you, than to say, Arise and walk?
And immediately he stood up before them, picked up what he had been lying on, [and] went away to his home, glorifying God.
at this they were all seized with astonishment, and gave thanks to God, crying out with great reverence, what a wonderful instance of power have we seen this day!
But some of the Pharisees said, Why do you do what it is not right to do on the Sabbath?
And Jesus answering them said, Have ye not read even this, what David did, when he was hungry, he, and they that were with him;
But He knew what they were thinking, and He said to the man with the withered hand, "Get up and stand at the front." So he got up and stood there.
Then Jesus said to them, I will question you. What? Is it permitted on the Sabbath to do good, or to do harm, to save life, or to kill?
But they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.
And having lifted up his eyes on his disciples, he said, Blessed are the poor, because the kingdom of God is what belongs to you.
Those of you who now have an appetite [i.e., for doing what is right] are blessed, because you will be satisfied [eventually]. Those of you who cry now [i.e., over your sins] are blessed, because you will laugh [i.e., when you are forgiven later].
Then indeed you may be glad and dance for joy, for be sure that your reward in Heaven will be great; for that is what their ancestors did to the Prophets.
Alas for you when all men speak well of you; for this is what their ancestors did to the false Prophets.
To every one that asks of thee, give; and from him that takes away what is thine, ask it not back.
And if ye love them that love you, what thank have ye? for even sinners love those that love them.
And if ye do good to them that do good to you, what thank have ye? for even sinners do the same.
And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? even sinners lend to sinners, to receive again as much.
give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again.
The good man, out of the good treasure of his heart, brings forth good; and the wicked man out of the wicked, brings forth what is wicked: for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
"And why do you call me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I tell [you]?
Everyone who comes to me and gives ear to my words and does them, I will make clear to you what he is like:
but he that does not practise what he hears, is like a man who built his house upon the loose earth without any foundation: the current beat impetuously against it: in the instant down it fell, and great were its ruins.
When he had finished what he had to say in the hearing of the people, he went into Capharnahum.
And the report of what Jesus had done spread through the whole of Judaea and in all the surrounding districts.
Then the disciples of John [the Immerser] told him all about these things [i.e., what Jesus was doing].
And answering them he said, Go back and give news to John of what you have seen, and the things which have come to your ears; the blind now see, those who had no power in their legs are walking, lepers are made clean, those who had no hearing now have their ears open, dead men come to life again, and the poor have the good news given to them.
And when the messengers of John were departed, he began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to behold? a reed shaken with the wind?
But what went ye out to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, they that are gorgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings courts.
But what went ye out to see? a prophet? Yea, I say unto you, and much more than a prophet.
Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation, and to what are they like?
and to what are they like? they are like children sitting in the market-place, and calling to one another, and saying, "We have played pleasant tunes to you, and ye have not danced; we have sung mournful ones and ye have not wept:"
Now when the Pharisee that had bidden him saw it, he spake within himself, saying, This man, if he were a prophet, would have perceived who and what manner of woman this is that toucheth him, that she is a sinner.
As they could not pay him, he canceled what they owed him. Now which of them will be more attached to him?"
a kiss to me thou didst not give, but this woman, from what time I came in, did not cease kissing my feet;
And his disciples asked him what this parable might be.
he answered, the secret circumstances of the divine dispensation may be clearly revealed to you, but to others only in parables, so that they don't observe what they see, nor comprehend what they hear.
This is what the story means: The seed is God's message.
And what falls among the thorns means those who listen and pass on, and the worries and wealth and pleasures of life stifle them and they yield nothing.
Therefore consider how you listen, for whoever has, to him [more] will be given, and whoever does not have, even what he thinks [that he] has will be taken away from him."
His reply, spoken to them all, was: "My mother and my brothers are those who listen to God's teaching and do what it bids."
And he said to them, Where is your faith? And fear and wonder overcame them, and they said to one another, Who then is this, who gives orders even to the winds and the water and they do what he says?
And when he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the Most High God? I beseech thee, torment me not.
And Jesus asked him, What is thy name? And he said, Legion; for many demons were entered into him.
