When the turn came near for Esther daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken [her] as a daughter, to go to the king, she did not ask anything except what Hegai the eunuch of the king who was in charge of the women, advised. And Esther carried favor in the eyes of everyone that saw her.
Esther had not made known her family and her people, just as Mordecai had instructed her; for Esther {did what Mordecai told her}, just as when she was brought up by him.
Then Esther called Hathach from the king's eunuchs {who regularly attended to her}, and she ordered him [to go] to Mordecai to learn what was happening and why.
And the king said to her, "What [is] it, Queen Esther? What [is] your request? It will be given to you--even half the kingdom."
And the king said to Esther {while they were drinking wine}, "What [is] your petition? It will be given to you. What [is] your request? Even half the kingdom, it will done.
And the king asked, "What has been done to bestow honor to Mordecai for this?" And the king's servants who attended him said, "Nothing has been done for him."
And Haman came, and the king said to him, "What [is] to be done for the man whom the king wishes to honor?" And Haman thought to himself, "Whom would the king wish to honor more than me?"
Then the king said to Haman, "Quickly, take the clothing and the horse, just as you have said, and do so to Mordecai the Jew who sits at the gate of the king; you must not leave out anything from what you have said."
And the king again said to Esther, on the second day {while they were drinking}, "What [is] your petition, Queen Esther? It will be given to you. What [is] your request? It will be given [to you]--even half the kingdom."
On that day King Ahasuerus gave Queen Esther the house of Haman, the enemy of the Jews; and Mordecai came before the king, for Esther had told what he [was] to her.
And the king said to Queen Esther, "In the citadel of Susa the Jews killed and destroyed five hundred men and the ten sons of Haman. What have they done in the rest of the king's provinces? What [is] your petition? It will be granted to you. And what further [is] your request? It will be done."
And the Jews adopted what they had begun to do and what Mordecai had written to them.
Therefore they called these days Purim, because of the name Pur. Thus because of all the words of this letter, and of what they faced concerning this, and of what had happened to them,
{Then when} the days of the feast had run their course, {Job would send}, and he would sanctify them. Thus he would arise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings [according to] the number of all of them, because Job thought, "Perhaps my children have sinned and {cursed} God in their heart." This is what Job used to do {all the time}.

What [is] my strength, that I should wait? And what [is] my end, that {I should hold out}?
How painful are {upright words}! But what does {your reproof} reprove?
"What [is] a human being that you make him great and that {you fix your mind on him},
[If] I have sinned, what have I done to you, watcher of humanity? Why have you made me as a target for yourself, so that I have become a burden to myself?
"Indeed, please inquire of former generations, and consider {what their ancestors have found},
{If} he would snatch away, who could turn him? Who could say to him, 'What are you doing?'
{It is higher than the heaven}; what can you do? [It is] deeper than Sheol; what can you know?
{What you know}, I myself also know-- I [am] not more inferior than you.
"{What is worse}, you yourself are doing away with fear, and you are lessening meditation {before} God.
What do you know that we do not know? [What] do you understand that [is] not clear to us?
"What [is] a human being, that he can be clean, or that [one] born of a woman can be righteous?
"I will show you, listen to me; and what I have seen, I will tell--
what wise men have told, and they have not hidden [that which is] from their ancestors,
[Is there] a limit to windy words? What provokes you that you answer?
And what is more, [if] I have truly erred, my error remains with me.
Who [is] Shaddai that we should serve him, or what would we benefit when we plead with him?'
for what {does he care for} his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off?
Who denounces his way to his face? And who repays him [for what] he has done?
[Those] who said to God, 'Turn away from us,' and 'What can Shaddai do to us?'
I want to know [the] words [with which] he would answer me, and I want to understand what he would say to me.
For he will carry out {what he appoints for me}, and many [things] like these [are] with him
How you have advised {one who has no wisdom}! And [what] sound wisdom you have made known {in abundance}!
for what [is the] hope of [the] godless when he cuts [them] off, when God takes away his life?
Moreover, {what use to me is the strength of their hands}? With them, vigor is destroyed.
And what [is] the portion of God from above or the heritage of Shaddai from on high?
then what shall I do when God rises up? And when he enquires, how shall I answer him?
"Look, I waited for your words; I listened for your insight, until you searched out {what to say}.
My words [declare] my heart's uprightness, and my lips sincerely speak {what my lips know}.
"He will sing to men, and he will say, 'I have sinned and have perverted [what is] right, and it was not paid back to me.
Let us choose justice for ourselves; let us determine among ourselves what [is] good--
What's more, God truly does not act wickedly, and Shaddai does not pervert justice.
"But if [you have] understanding, hear this; listen to {what I say}.
teach me yourself {what I cannot see}; if I have done wrong, I will not repeat [it]'?
{According to your judgment}, must he repay [it] because you rejected [this]? Indeed, you must choose, and not I, so declare what you know.
If you ask what it profits you: 'How do I benefit {by refraining from my sin}?'
If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against him? And [if] your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?
If you are righteous, what do you give to him, or what does he receive from your hand?
And what's more, he allured you {out of distress} [into] a broad place, [where] in place of it [was] no constraint; and [what] was set on your table is full of fatness.
His thundering tells about him; [the] livestock also [tell] {concerning what rises}.
"Teach us what we should say to him; we cannot draw up our case because of [the] presence of darkness.
On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone,
"Look, I am insignificant. What shall I answer you? I lay my hand on my mouth.
{And then} after Yahweh spoke these words to Job, Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite, "{My wrath has been kindled} against you and against [the] two of your friends, for you have not spoken to me what is right as my servant Job [has].
{So then}, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. And my servant Job will pray for you, for {I will certainly accept his prayer}, so that it will not be done with you [according to your] folly, for you have not spoken to me what is right as my servant Job [has]."
what [is] a human being that you think of him? and a child of humankind that you care for him?
When the foundations are destroyed what can [the] righteous do?
He who walks blamelessly and does what is right. He who speaks honestly in his heart.
"What gain [is there] in my {death}, in my going down into [the] pit? Will [the] dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness?
Violent witnesses rise up; they ask me [concerning] what I do not know.
"Let me know, O Yahweh, my end, and what is the measure of my days. Let me know how transient I [am]."
And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is for you.
But to the wicked God says, "What [right] have you to recite my statutes and {mention my covenant with your mouth},
You love evil more than good, a lie more than speaking {what is right}. Selah
I will give thanks to you forever, because [of what] you have done, and I will wait on your name, because [it is] good, in the presence of your faithful ones.
God, whose word I praise, God I trust; I do not fear. What can [mere] flesh do to me?
God I trust; I do not fear. What can [mere] humankind do to me?
Do you really speak [what is] right [when] silent? [Do] you judge fairly the children of humankind?
Come [and] hear, all you God-fearers, and I will tell what he has done for me.
Your God has commanded your strength. Show yourself strong, O God, [by] what you perform for us.
More numerous than the hairs of my head are [those] hating me without a cause. [Those who are] destroying me--my enemies wrongfully-- are mighty. What I did not steal, I then must restore.
May [what is] right blossom in his days and an abundance of peace, until [the] moon is no more.
