He that hateth me, hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no other did, they had not had sin:
if I had not done among them such works as no other ever did, they had been innocent: but though they have seen them, yet they hate both me and my father.
They will do these things to you because they have not had knowledge of the Father or of me.
But I have told you these things so that, when the time comes [for people to do such things], you will remember that I had warned you. I did not tell you them at the beginning [of my ministry] because I was with you [i.e., to protect you from persecution].
now Jesus perceiving that they had a mind to ask him, said to them, are you sollicitous about what I said, "within a little while ye shall not see me: but within a little while ye shall see me again?"
for the father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I had my mission from God.
When Jesus had said all these things, He lifted His eyes to heaven and said: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that He may glorify you,
'And now, glorify me, Thou Father, with Thyself, with the glory that I had before the world was, with Thee;
I have made known thy name to the persons whom thou gavest me out of the world: for thee they had a being, and to me thou hast given them; and thy word have they kept.
Father, it is my desire that these whom you have given to me may be by my side where I am, so that they may see my glory which you have given to me, because you had love for me before the world came into being.
Righteous Father, though the world did not know you, I knew you, and these men knew that you had sent me.
I have made thee known to them, and will do so still; that the love that thou has had for me may be in their hearts, and that I may be in them also."
When Jesus had spoken these words, he pass'd with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into which he entred with them.
and Judas also, who delivered him up, had known the place, because many times did Jesus assemble there with his disciples.
Judas then after he had received a bond of men, and ministers of the high priests, and of the Pharisees, came thither with lanterns, and firebrands, and weapons.
They answered him, Jesus the Nazarene. Jesus says to them, I am he. And Judas, the man betraying him had also stood with them.
But as soon as he had said unto them, "I am he," they went backwards and fell to the ground.

Then Simon
and brought him first of all to Annas (for Annas was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest that year ??14 the Caiaphas who had advised the Jews that it was for their interests that one man should die for the people).
Caiaphas was the one who had advised the Jews that it was advantageous that one man should die for the people.
Now Simon Peter had followed Jesus, and another disciple: and that disciple was acquainted with the high-priest, and went in with Jesus into the palace of the high-priest.
But Peter was kept outside at the door. Then this other disciple, who was a friend of the high priest, came out and had a word with the girl who kept the door, and took Peter in.
now the servants and officers that were there, had made a coal-fire, for it was cold, to warm themselves: and Peter stood warming himself among them.
why do you question me? ask those who heard me, what discourse I had with them: they know very well what I said.
When He had said these things, one of the temple police standing by slapped Jesus, saying, “Is this the way you answer the high priest?”
now Annas had sent him bound to Caiaphas the high priest.
Now Simon Peter had been standing and warming himself [by the outdoor charcoal fire]. So, someone asked him, "Are you not one of His disciples, too?" Peter denied it, saying, "[No], I am not."
One of the high priest’s slaves, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, said, “Didn’t I see you with Him in the garden?”
Then, early in the morning they led Jesus from Caiaphas to [governor Pilate's] headquarters. But the Jewish authorities would not enter it, because [if they had] they would have become ceremonially unclean, and could not eat the Passover meal. [Note: This was because they regarded a Gentile house as defiling].
they answered and said to him, 'If he were not an evil doer, we had not delivered him to thee.'
so that what Jesus had said, to signify the death he should die, was actually accomplished.
Jesus answered, 'My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my officers had struggled that I might not be delivered up to Jews; but now my kingdom is not from hence.'
“What is truth?” said Pilate.
After he had said this, he went out to the Jews again and told them, “I find no grounds
Then Pilate took Jesus and had Him flogged.
Hearing this, Pilate had a desire to let him go free, but the Jews said in a loud voice, If you let this man go, you are not Caesar's friend: everyone who makes himself a king goes against Caesar.
On hearing this Pilate had Jesus brought out and had Him sit on the judge's bench at the place called the Stone Platform, or in Hebrew, Gabbatha.
Pilate also had a sign lettered and put on the cross. The inscription was:
JESUS THE NAZARENE
THE KING OF THE JEWS.
Now many of the Jews read this inscription, for the place where Jesus had been crucified was close to the city; besides, the inscription was in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek.
The soldiers, after they had crucified Jesus, took his garments (and made four parts, to every soldier a part) and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

And another Scripture says [Zech. 12:10], "People will look at him whom they [had] pierced."
Nicodemus
There was a garden in the place where He was crucified. A new tomb was in the garden; no one had yet been placed in it.
So, they placed Jesus' body there, for it was the Day of Preparation and that was the closest grave site. [Note: Since this was the day before the Passover Festival, and the next day was also the regular weekly Sabbath, they had to bury the body before sundown to comply with Jewish restrictions against working on a Sabbath day].

Then Simon Peter, who had been following him, also arrived and went [straight] into the cave-like tomb and saw the linen cloths lying there.

And He said to them, Cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find. Therefore they cast, and now they no longer had the strength to draw, from the multitude of fish.
So that disciple whom Jesus used to love tenderly said to Peter, "It is the Lord!" When Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he belted on his fisherman's coat, for he had taken it off, and plunged into the sea.
As soon then as they had come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid upon them, and bread.
Jesus told them to fetch some of the fish which they had just caught.
So Simon Peter got into the boat and hauled the net ashore full of large fish, a hundred and fifty-three of them; and yet, although there were so many, the net had not been torn.
This [was] now [the] third [time] Jesus was revealed to the disciples [after he] had been raised from the dead.
When they had eaten breakfast, Jesus asked Simon Peter,
“Yes, Lord,” he said to Him, “You know that I love You.”
Then Jesus asked him a third time, "Simon, son of John, do you [truly] love me?" Peter was sad because Jesus had asked him a third time, "Do you [even] love me?" So, he said to Jesus, "Lord, you know all things. You [surely] know that I love you." Jesus replied to him, "[Then] feed my sheep.
I tell you for certain, tho' when you was a youth you girded your self, and rambled where you had a mind: yet when you are old, your hands shall be stretch'd out, and another shall gird thee, and lead thee where you will be unwilling to go.

After He had suffered, He also presented Himself alive to them by many convincing proofs, appearing to them during 40 days and speaking about the kingdom of God.
being with them when they were assembled, he order'd they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for what the father had promis'd, which, said he, I mention'd.

but after he had purchased a field with the reward of his iniquity, he fell down, his belly burst, and all his bowels gushed out:
And they appointed two, Joseph, who was called Barsabas, who had been surnamed Justus, and Matthias.
When the day of Pentecost had arrived, they were all together in one place.
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as it had been the coming of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they sat.

When the report of this had gone abroad, the multitude came together; and they were perplexed, for each one heard them speak in his own language.
But others said derisively, "They have had too much new wine!"
Men of Israel, give ear to these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man who had the approval of God, as was made clear to you by the great works and signs and wonders which God did by him among you, as you yourselves have knowledge,
this very Jesus, I say, after He was betrayed, in accordance with the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you had wicked men kill by nailing Him to a cross;
