'Held' in the Bible
(His closest advisors were: Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan, the seven officials of Persia and Media who had direct access to the king and who held the highest rank in the kingdom.)
The king held a great banquet for all his officials and staff. It was Esther’s banquet. He freed his provinces from tax payments and gave gifts worthy of the king’s bounty.
And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
Then Haman said, "Even Queen Esther brought no one except me with the king to the banquet that she held. Furthermore, I (along with the king) have also been invited by her tomorrow.
For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage.
Then the king held out the golden sceptre toward Esther. So Esther arose, and stood before the king,
And his sons went and held a feast in the house of each one upon his day; and they sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.
“Your words have helped the one who was stumbling to stand,And you have strengthened feeble knees.
“I am accounted wicked and held guilty;Why then should I labor in vain [to appear innocent]?
If my head is held high, you hunt me like a lion. Again you show yourself powerful to me.
Complete darkness is held in reserve for his treasures,And unfanned fire will devour him;It will consume the survivor in his tent.
My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth.
And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; Wherefore I held back, and durst not show you mine opinion.
Because my steps have held fast to your paths, my footsteps have not faltered.
And thou didst give me the shield of thy salvation, and thy right hand held me up; and thy condescending gentleness hath made me great.

The wicked person's iniquities will capture him, and he will be held with the cords of his sin.
If you are wise, your wisdom will assist you. If you mock, you alone will be held responsible.
Hand for hand! an evil man shall not be held innocent; but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
The life of a wealthy man may be held for ransom, but whoever is poor receives no threats.

And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?
Look down from heaven, and see from your holy and glorious dwelling. Where are your zeal and your might? Where are the yearning of your heart and your compassion? They are held back from me.
I held out my hands all day long to a disobedient people, who walk in a way that isn't good, following their own inclinations
Israel was holiness unto Jehovah, the first-fruits of his increase: all that devour him shall be held guilty; evil shall come upon them, saith Jehovah.
Your iniquities have turned these things away, and your sins have held back from you what is good.

Samaria will be held guilty, because she has rebelled against her God. By the sword they will fall with their infants dashed to pieces, and their pregnant women torn open."
"Put on your mourning clothes, you priests; and cry aloud, you ministering servants at the altar! Come! Stay the night in mourner's clothes, you ministers of my God, because the grain offering and the wine offering is held back from the Temple of your God.
And I shall avenge their blood which I have not avenged,For the Lord dwells in Zion.
“Then they will sweep through like the wind and pass on.But they will be held guilty,They whose strength is their god.”
This is why the sky has held back its dew and the earth its produce.
whose possessors slay them without being held guilty; and they that sell them say, Blessed be Jehovah! for I am become rich; and their own shepherds pity them not.
Then he told the man, "Hold out your hand." He held it out and it became normal, as healthy as his other hand.

So the latter held a conference with the Elders, and after consultation with them they heavily bribed the soldiers,
And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
Jesus looked around at them in anger, deeply hurt because of their hard hearts. Then he told the man, "Hold out your hand." The man held it out, and his hand was restored to health.
Then the Pharisees went out and immediately began conspiring with the Herodians [to plot] against Him, as to how they might [fabricate some legal grounds to] put Him to death.
So Herodias held a grudge against him and wanted to kill him. But she could not,
"Elijah," He replied, "does indeed come first and reforms everything; but how is it that it is written of the Son of Man that He will endure much suffering and be held in contempt?
