'Wicked' in the Bible
Abraham stepped forward and said, “Will You really sweep away the righteous with the wicked?
You could not possibly do such a thing: to kill the righteous with the wicked, treating the righteous and the wicked alike. You could not possibly do that! Won’t the Judge of all the earth do what is just?”
“You must not spread a false report. Do not join the wicked to be a malicious witness.
He warned the community, “Get away now from the tents of these wicked men. Don’t touch anything that belongs to them, or you will be swept away because of all their sins.”
that wicked men have sprung up among you, led the inhabitants of their city astray, and said, ‘Let us go and worship other gods,’ which you have not known,
Be careful that there isn’t this wicked thought in your heart, ‘The seventh year, the year of canceling debts, is near,’ and you are stingy toward your poor brother and give him nothing. He will cry out to the Lord against you, and you will be guilty.
Don’t think of me as a wicked woman; I’ve been praying from the depth of my anguish and resentment.”
He guards the steps of His faithful ones,but the wicked perish in darkness,for a man does not prevail by his own strength.
Eli’s sons were wicked men; they had no regard for the Lord
But some wicked men said, “How can this guy save us?” They despised him and did not bring him a gift, but Saul said nothing.
As the old proverb says, ‘Wickedness comes from wicked people.’ My hand will never be against you.
How much more when wicked men kill a righteous man in his own house on his own bed! So now, should I not require his blood from your hands and wipe you off the earth?”
Now a wicked man, a Benjaminite named Sheba son of Bichri, happened to be there. He blew the ram’s horn and shouted:We have no portion in David,no inheritance in Jesse’s son.Each man to his tent, Israel!
But all the wicked are like thorns raked aside;they can never be picked up by hand.
may You hear in heaven and act.May You judge Your servants,condemning the wicked man by bringingwhat he has done on his own headand providing justice for the righteousby rewarding him according to his righteousness.
and when they come to their sensesin the land where they were deportedand repent and petition You in their captors’ land:“We have sinned and done wrong;we have been wicked,”
Then seat two wicked men opposite him and have them testify against him, saying, “You have cursed God and the king!” Then take him out and stone him to death.

When they were in their kingdom,with Your abundant goodness that You gave them,and in the spacious and fertile land You set before them,they would not serve You or turn from their wicked ways.
There the wicked cease to make trouble,and there the weary find rest.
Your enemies will be clothed with shame;the tent of the wicked will exist no longer.
It is all the same. Therefore I say,“He destroys both the blameless and the wicked.”
The earth is handed over to the wicked;He blindfolds its judges.If it isn’t He, then who is it?
Is it good for You to oppress,to reject the work of Your hands,and favor the plans of the wicked?
even though You know that I am not wickedand that there is no one who can deliver from Your hand?

How often is the lamp of the wicked put out?Does disaster come on them?Does He apportion destruction in His anger?
For you say, “Where now is the nobleman’s house?”and “Where are the tents the wicked lived in?”
Will you continue on the ancient paththat wicked men have walked?
But it was He who filled their houses with good things.The counsel of the wicked is far from me!
The wicked displace boundary markers.They steal a flock and provide pasture for it.
They gather their fodder in the fieldand glean the vineyards of the wicked.
The wicked are those who rebel against the light.They do not recognize its waysor stay on its paths.
May my enemy be like the wickedand my opponent like the unjust.
This is a wicked man’s lot from God,the inheritance the ruthless receive from the Almighty.
Doesn’t disaster come to the unjustand misfortune to evildoers?
who says to a king, “Worthless man!”and to nobles, “Wicked men!”?
If only Job were tested to the limit,because his answers are like those of wicked men.
He does not keep the wicked alive,but He gives justice to the afflicted.
Yet now you are obsessed with the judgment due the wicked;judgment and justice have seized you.
so it may seize the edges of the earthand shake the wicked out of it?
Light is withheld from the wicked,and the arm raised in violence is broken.
Look on every proud person and humble him;trample the wicked where they stand.

In arrogance the wicked relentlessly pursue the afflicted;let them be caught in the schemes they have devised.
For the wicked one boasts about his own cravings;the one who is greedy curses and despises the Lord.
In all his scheming,the wicked arrogantly thinks:“There is no accountability,since God does not exist.”
Why has the wicked person despised God?He says to himself, “You will not demand an account.”
Break the arm of the wicked and evil person;call his wickedness into accountuntil nothing remains of it.
For look, the wicked string the bow;they put the arrow on the bowstringto shoot from the shadows at the upright in heart.
The Lord examines the righteous and the wicked.He hates the lover of violence.
He will rain burning coals and sulfur on the wicked;a scorching wind will be their portion.
The wicked wander everywhere,and what is worthless is exalted by the human race.
from the wicked who treat me violently,my deadly enemies who surround me.
Rise up, Lord!Confront him; bring him down.With Your sword, save me from the wicked.
Though they intend to harm youand devise a wicked plan, they will not prevail.
I hate a crowd of evildoers,and I do not sit with the wicked.
Do not drag me away with the wicked,with the evildoers,who speak in friendly ways with their neighborswhile malice is in their hearts.
Lord, do not let me be disgraced when I call on You.Let the wicked be disgraced;let them be silent in Sheol.
Many pains come to the wicked,but the one who trusts in the Lordwill have faithful love surrounding him.
For the choir director. A psalm of David, the Lord’s servant.An oracle within my heartconcerning the transgression of the wicked person:There is no dread of God before his eyes,
Do not let the foot of the arrogant man come near meor the hand of the wicked one drive me away.
A little while, and the wicked person will be no more;though you look for him, he will not be there.
The wicked person schemes against the righteousand gnashes his teeth at him.
The wicked have drawn the sword and strung the bowto bring down the afflicted and needyand to slaughter those whose way is upright.
The little that the righteous man has is betterthan the abundance of many wicked people.
For the arms of the wicked will be broken,but the Lord supports the righteous.
But the wicked will perish;the Lord’s enemies, like the glory of the pastures,will fade away—they will fade away like smoke.
The wicked man borrows and does not repay,but the righteous one is gracious and giving.
For the Lord loves justiceand will not abandon His faithful ones.They are kept safe forever,but the children of the wicked will be destroyed.
The wicked one lies in wait for the righteousand seeks to kill him;
Wait for the Lord and keep His way,and He will exalt you to inherit the land.You will watch when the wicked are destroyed.
I have seen a wicked, violent manwell-rooted like a flourishing native tree.
But transgressors will all be eliminated;the future of the wicked will be destroyed.
The Lord helps and delivers them;He will deliver them from the wicked and will save thembecause they take refuge in Him.

But God says to the wicked:“What right do you have to recite My statutesand to take My covenant on your lips?
