But he went out, and began to publish it much, and to blaze abroad the matter, insomuch that Jesus could no more openly enter into the city, but was without in desert places: and they came to him from every quarter.
And immediately many came together, so that the house could contain them no longer, nor could the space about the door. And he preached the word to them.
And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
And they were watching him closely [to see] if he would heal him on the Sabbath, in order that they could accuse him.

He told His disciples to have a small boat waiting for Him [i.e., from which He could address the people. See 4:1], to prevent His being thronged by the large crowd.
For he had healed many, so that all those who {were suffering from diseases} pressed about him in order that they could touch him.
And he appointed twelve, so that they would be with him and so that he could send them out to preach
And the multitude cometh together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread.
For it is not hidden, save that it may be made visible; neither did it get hidden away, but that it might come into a place where it could be seen.
Who had his dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither could any man tame him.
And [as] he was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed began to implore him that he could go with him.
And he could there do no mighty work, save that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk, and healed them.
They could wear sandals but not take along an extra shirt.
Therefore Herodias had a quarrel against him, and would have killed him; but she could not:
but she could not, for Herod was afraid of John because he knew that he was a just and holy man. So he kept him safe. When he listened to John he was much exercised, yet he found pleasure in listening to him.
And he said to them, "Come away to some lonely spot and get a little rest" (for there were many people coming and going, and they could get no time even to eat).
So, they [i.e., Jesus and His apostles] left by boat and went to a separate place [where they could be] alone.
And taking the five loaves and the two fish [and] looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves and gave [them] to his disciples so that they could set [them] before them. And he distributed the two fish to [them] all.
And wherever he would go, into villages or into towns or to farms, they would put those who were sick in the marketplaces and would implore him that if they could touch even the edge of his cloak. And all those who touched it were healed.
But when you people say, 'If someone says to his father or mother, [the money] I could have helped you with is Corban; in other words, [it is] given to God,'
And from thence he arose, and went into the borders of Tyre and Sidon, and entered into an house, and would have no man know it: but he could not be hid.
And they bring to him a deaf man who could not speak right, and they beseech him that he might lay his hand on him.
In those days, there being again a great crowd, and they having nothing that they could eat, having called his disciples to him, he says to them,
His disciples answered him, "From where could one satisfy these people with bread here in a deserted place?"
And he commanded the crowd to recline for a meal on the ground, and taking the seven loaves, [after he] had given thanks he broke [them] and began giving [them] to his disciples so that they could set [them] before [them]. And they set [them] before the crowd.
Then he placed his hands on his eyes again, and he opened his eyes and was cured, and could see everything clearly.
and his garments became shining, exceeding white as snow, such as fuller on earth could not whiten them.
And having responded, Peter says to Jesus, Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. And we could make three tabernacles: one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.
Instantly they looked round, and now they could no longer see any one, but themselves and Jesus.
And they kept the matter to themselves, inquiring of one another what the rising from the dead could mean.
And wheresoever he taketh him, he teareth him: and he foameth, and gnasheth with his teeth, and pineth away: and I spake to thy disciples that they should cast him out; and they could not.
And often it has thrown him both into fire and into water, in order that it could destroy him. But if you are able [to do] anything, have compassion on us [and] help us!"
And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out?
And they were bringing young children to him so that he could touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.
Seeing at a distance a fig tree in leaf, He went to see if He would find anything on it. But He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
And the chief priests and the scribes heard [it], and began considering how they could destroy him. For they were afraid of him because the whole crowd was astounded by his teaching.
And he sent a slave to the tenant farmers at the proper time, so that he could collect [some] of the fruit of the vineyard from the tenant farmers.
He had still one left whom he could send, a dearly-loved son: him last of all he sent, saying, "'They will treat my son with respect.'
And they sent some of the Pharisees and the Herodians to him so that they could catch him unawares in a statement.
David himself called Him [i.e., Jesus] Lord, so how could He be his son?" And the large crowd listened to Him with pleasure.
for they have all contributed out of what they could well spare, but she out of her need has thrown in all she possessed--all she had to live on."
And unless the Lord had made those days few, no flesh could be saved: but for the sake of the elect whom he has chosen, he has made those days few.
Now after two days it was the Passover and the feast of Unleavened Bread, and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how, [after] arresting him by stealth, they could kill [him].
but they objected, it could not be during the festival, for fear of a popular insurrection.
for this ointment could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor. And they spoke very angrily at her.
She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying.
and they, when they heard it, rejoiced, and promised him to give money. And he sought how he could opportunely deliver him up.
He said to them, "My soul is extremely grieved, even to the point where I could die. Stay here and be alert [i.e., in prayer]."
Then He came and found them sleeping.
And again he came [and] found them sleeping, {for they could not keep their eyes open}, and they did not know what to reply to him.
The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin
For he could see that it was out of sheer spite that the High Priests had handed Him over.
So Pilate, [because he] wanted {to satisfy} the crowd, released for them Barabbas. And [after] he had Jesus flogged, he handed [him] over so that he could be crucified.
And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the purple cloak and put his own clothes on him, and they led him out so that they could crucify him.
They forced a passerby, named Simon of Cyrene [Note: This was a city in the northern African country of Libya], the father of Alexander and Rufus, who was coming in from the countryside, to go with them so he could carry Jesus' cross [i.e., probably only the cross-beam portion].
But Pilate could hardly believe that He was already dead. He called, however, for the Centurion and inquired whether He had been long dead;
And [when] the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the [mother] of James, and Salome purchased fragrant spices so that they could go [and] anoint him.
But they, when they were told that He was alive and that she had seen Him, could not believe it.
