But Jesus was silent. And the highpriest answering said to him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou art the Christ, the Son of God.
When therefore they were assembled, Pilate said to them, Whom will ye that I release to you? Barabbas, or Jesus, who is called Christ?
Pilate saith to them, What then shall I do with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all say, Let him be crucified.
And he asked them, But who do ye say that I am? Peter answering saith to him, Thou art the Christ.
For whoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, truly do I say to you, he will not lose his reward.
And Jesus answered and said, while he was teaching in the temple, How is it that the scribes say, that the Christ is Davids son?
And then if any one shall say to you, See! here is the Christ; see! there; believe him not.
For false Christs and false prophets will rise up, and will do signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the chosen.
But he was silent, and answered nothing. Again the highpriest asked him, and saith to him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?

Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things, and enter into his glory?
And he said to them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and should rise from the dead on the third day,
