And Judah said, "Let her take it to her, lest we be shamed: for I sent the kid and thou couldest not find her."

And Joab went into the house to the king and said, "Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, which this day have saved thy life and the lives of thy sons and daughters, and the lives of thy wives and concubines:

As for the remnant of Judah that purposely went into Egypt, there to ease them of their misery: I will take them and they shall all be destroyed. In the land of Egypt shall they perish, being consumed with the sword and with hunger. For from the least unto the most, they shall perish with the sword and with hunger. The Heathen shall hear of thy shame, and the land shall be full of thy confusion: for one strong man shall stumble upon another. How then should they not fall both together?"

Thus sayeth the LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel against Moab, "Woe be to the city of Nebo, for it shall be laid waste, brought to confusion and taken. Yea the strong city of Kiriathaim shall be brought to shame, and afraid.

For why? I have sworn by myself, sayeth the LORD, that Bozrah shall become a wilderness; an open shame; a laughingstock and cursing; and her cities shall be a continual desert.

"Preach among the Gentiles, let your voice be heard, make a token: cry out, keep no silence, but say, 'Babylon shall be won, Bel shall be confounded, and Merodach shall be overcome. Yea their gods shall be brought to shame and their images shall stand in fear.'

Your mothers shall be sore confounded; and they that bare you, shall come to shame. She shall be the least set by among the nations, void, waste, and dried up.

All thy herdsmen shall be driven with the wind, and thy darlings shall be carried away into captivity. Then shalt thou be brought to shame and confusion, because of all thy wickedness:

And will bring you to an everlasting confusion, and into such a shame, as shall never be forgotten.

And will make them to be a reproof, a common byword, a laughingstock and shame, in all the places where I shall scatter them.

And why? For thy sake have I suffered reproof; shame hath covered my face.

Thou knowest my reproof, and my shame and my dishonor: mine adversaries are all in thy sight.

Let them soon be brought to shame, that cry over me, "There! there!"

Let them be confounded and perish that are against my soul; let them be covered with shame and dishonour, that seek to do me evil.

My tongue talketh of thy righteousness, all the day long; for they are confounded and brought unto shame that seek to do me evil.
