Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm; may the Lord reward him according to his work.
And do you beware of him, for he greatly opposed our words.
They profess to know God, but by works deny him, being abominable and disobedient, and as to every good work reprobate.
whom I have sent back. And do you receive him, that is, my soul,

Every one that hates his brother is a murderer; and we know that no murderer has eternal life continuing in him.
And whoever has the goods of the world and sees his brother have need, and withholds his compassions from him, how continues the love of God in him?
And by this we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him;
and what we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things which are pleasing in his sight.
And he that keeps his commandments continues in him and he in him; and by this we know that he continues in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
