I was wandering, and you took me not in; without clothing, and you gave me no clothing; ill, and in prison, and you came not to me.
and took counsel together in order that they might seize Jesus by subtlety and kill him;

Be alert and pray, so that you do not give in to temptation; the spirit [of a person] is truly willing [i.e., to do a certain thing], but his physical nature is [often too] weak [to carry it out]."
And Jesus said unto him, "Friend, wherefore art thou come?" Then came they and laid hands on Jesus and took him.
And behold, one of those with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, and smiting the bondman of the high priest took off his ear.
The same time said Jesus to the multitude, "Ye be come out as it were unto a thief, with swords and staves for to take me: daily I sat among you teaching in the temple, and ye took me not.
but all this took place that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then the disciples all leaving Him, fled away.
And they took Jesus and led him to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
But Peter went after him at a distance, to the house of the high priest, and went in and took his seat with the servants, to see the end.
Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, and a waiting girl came up to him, and said, "You, too, were with Jesus the Galilean."
And after a little, those who stood there, coming to him, said to Peter, Truly thou too art of them, for also thy speech makes thee manifest.
Now [when it] was early morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus in order to put him to death.
And they put cords on him and took him away, and gave him up to Pilate, the ruler.
Then Judas, who was false to him, seeing that he was to be put to death, in his regret took back the thirty bits of silver to the chief priests and those in authority,
But the chief priests took the silver coins [and] said, "It is not permitted to put them into the temple treasury, because it is {blood money}."
And they took counsel, and bought with them a potter's field to bury strangers in.
Then what was spoken by the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled, who said, "And they took the thirty silver coins, the price of the one who had been priced, [on] whom a price had been set by the sons of Israel,
So Pilate, [when he] saw that he was accomplishing nothing, but instead an uproar was developing, took water [and] washed his hands before the crowd, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this man. You see to [it]!"
Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governor's residence [and] gathered the whole cohort to him.

And the high priests, too, made sport of Him, with the scribes and elders, and said,
one of the robbers too, who were crucified with him, treated him with the same reproach.
And immediately one of them ran and took a sponge and filled [it] with sour wine and put [it] on a reed [and] gave [it] to him to drink.
But the rest said: "Wait and let us see if Elijah is coming to save him." [However another man took a spear, and pierced his side; and water and blood flowed from it.]
Now the centurion and those with him who were guarding Jesus, [when they] saw the earthquake and the things that took place, were extremely frightened, saying, "Truly this man was God's Son!"
And Joseph took the body [and] wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,
So Joseph took the body, and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut in the rock; and after rolling a great stone against the opening of the tomb, he went away.
And there was a great earth-shock; for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, rolling back the stone, took his seat on it.

And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and made them go up with him into a high mountain by themselves: and he was changed in form before them:
Peter responded and said to Jesus, “Rabbi (Master), it is good for us to be here; let us make three [sacred] tents—one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
And they took him to him: and when he saw him, the spirit in him straight away became violent; and he went down on the earth, rolling about and streaming at the lips.
