Therefore I swore in my anger, 'They shall surely not enter into my rest.'"
Moses and Aaron [were] among his priests; Samuel also [was] among [those who] called on his name. They called to Yahweh, and he answered them.
He spoke to them in [the] pillar of cloud. They kept his testimonies and [the] statute he gave to them.
My eyes [will be] on [the] faithful of [the] land, that [they may] live with me. [He who] walks in [the] way of integrity, he shall minister to me.
so that [they may] make known in Zion the name of Yahweh, and his praise in Jerusalem,
They will perish, but you will endure. And like a garment they will all wear out, you will replace them like clothing, and they will be set aside.
At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they ran off.
They ascended [the] mountains [and] drained though the valleys to [the] place that you established for them.
You set a boundary that they may not cross over, [so that] they would not return to cover the earth.
[You are] the one who sends forth springs into the valleys; they flow between [the] mountains.
They give drink for every beast of [the] field. [The] wild donkeys {quench} their thirst.

You give to them; they gather [it]. You open your hand, they are filled with [what is] good.
You hide your face, they are terrified. You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.
You send forth your Spirit, they are created, and you renew the face of [the] ground.

When they were {few in number}-- a trifle--and [were] sojourners in it,

but they mingled with the nations and learned their works,

And they became unclean by their works, and were unfaithful in their deeds.
And their enemies oppressed them, and they were subdued under their hand.

When they become few and they are bent down from [the] oppression of calamity and grief,
for {wicked and deceitful mouths} have opened against me. They speak to me with a lying tongue.
They also surround me with words of hate, and fight me without cause.
In return for my love they accuse me, though I [am in] prayer.
So they inflicted evil against me in return for good and hatred in return for my love.
And [so] I am a disgrace to them; [when] they see me, they shake their heads.
that they may know that this [is] your hand, [that] you, O Yahweh, you have done it.
Let them curse, but you bless. [When] they arise, let them be put to shame, that your servant may be glad.
[They are] sustained forever [and] ever, done with faithfulness and uprightness.
They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;
they have ears, but cannot hear; they have noses, but cannot smell;
[they have] their hands, but they cannot feel, their feet, but they cannot walk; they cannot utter a sound in their throats.
They surrounded me; yes, they surrounded me. In the name of Yahweh I opposed them indeed.

Blessed [are] those who keep his testimonies; they seek him with a whole heart.
Let the arrogant be put to shame, because they have wronged me [with] lies. As for me, I will meditate on your precepts.
All your commands [are] faithful. They persecute me deceitfully; help me!
They have almost destroyed me on the earth, but I have not forsaken your precepts.
By your ordinances they stand today, for all [are] your servants.
Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, because they [are] ever with me.
I have taken as my own your testimonies forever, for they [are] the joy of my heart.
[It is] time for Yahweh to act, [for] they have broken your law.
[Those who] pursue a [wicked] purpose draw near; they are far from your law.
Salvation [is] far from [the] wicked, for they do not seek your statutes.
I see [the] treacherous and I feel disgust, because they do not heed your word.
Great peace [is] for those who love your law, and they do not have a cause for stumbling.
I [am for] peace, but when I speak, they [are] for war.
then they would have swallowed us alive, when their anger was kindled against us.
Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with rejoicing. Then they said among the nations, "Yahweh has done great [things] for these [people]."
Blessed [is] the man who fills his quiver with them. They shall not be put to shame when they speak with enemies at the gate.
"Too often they have attacked me from my youth." Let Israel say,
"Too often they have attacked me from my youth, yet they have not prevailed against me.
On my back plowmen have plowed. They have made their furrows long."
