And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
And with many such similitudes he preached the word unto them, after as they might hear it.
And without a story he said nothing to them: but privately to his disciples he made all things clear.

And catching sight of Jesus in the distance he ran up and made obeisance to him
And Jesus said, What is your name? And he made answer, My name is Legion, because there are a great number of us.
And he made strong prayers to him not to send them away out of the country.
And all the demons besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we might enter into them.
And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.
And he went on his way, and made public in the country of Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him: and all men were full of wonder.
By the time Jesus had re-crossed in the boat to the opposite shore, a great number of people had gathered to meet him, and were standing by the Sea.
and beseecheth him much, saying, My little daughter is at the point of death: I pray thee , that thou come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be made whole, and live.
For she said, If I touch but his garments, I shall be made whole.
And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
but He gave strict injunctions that the matter should not be made known, and directed them to give her something to eat.
He was astonished at their lack of faith. Then he made a tour round the villages, teaching.
And as many as might not receive you nor hear you, as ye depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony to them. Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom or Gomorrah in the day of judgment than
And having gone forth they were preaching that men might reform,
And they sent out a number of evil spirits, and put oil on a great number who were ill, and made them well.
And when a convenient day was come, that Herod on his birthday made a supper to his lords, high captains, and chief estates of Galilee;
and when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced, she pleased Herod and them that sat at meat with him; and the king said unto the damsel, Ask of me whatsoever thou wilt, and I will give it thee.
"Ask me for anything you like and I will give it to you." And he made oath to her, "I will give you whatever you ask me for, up to half my kingdom."
The girl immediately came in, in haste, to the King and made her request. "My desire is," she said, "that you will give me, here and now, on a dish, the head of John the Baptist."
And the king was exceeding sorry; but for the sake of his oaths, and of them that sat at meat, he would not reject her.
Now the apostles gathered to meet Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught.
Loose them, that having departed to the fields and towns round about, they might buy to themselves loaves: for they have nothing they might eat.
And having taken the five loaves and the two fishes, looking up to heaven, he blessed, and broke the loaves, and gave them to his disciples that they might set them before them. And the two fishes he divided among all.
And the pieces they took up from the loaves made twelve basketfuls besides the pieces from the fish.
The number eating the loaves of bread was five thousand men. [Note: This was besides women and children. See Matt. 14:21].
And immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he himself dismissed the crowd.
And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.
Now the Pharisees gathered to meet him, with some scribes who had come from Jerusalem.

But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled: for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.
And they bring to him a deaf man who could not speak right, and they beseech him that he might lay his hand on him.
And his ears became open, and the band of his tongue was made loose, and his words became clear.
And he gave them orders not to give news of it to anyone; but the more he made this request, so much the more they made it public.
And they were amazed beyond all measure, saying, "He has done all [things] well! He even makes the deaf hear and the mute speak!"
In those days again, when there was a great mass of people and they had no food, he made his disciples come to him and said to them,
I feel compassion for the crowd, for already they remain three days with me, and have nothing they might eat:
And his disciples answered him, Whence might anyone be able to satisfy these with loaves here in the lonely place?
And he commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground. And having taken the seven loaves, he gave thanks, and broke them and gave them to his disciples, that they might set them before them; and they set them before the crowd.
So they did eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets.
The number [who ate] was about four thousand men [besides women and children. See Matt. 15:38]. Then Jesus sent them away.
Immediately He boarded a boat with His disciples and crossed [to the west side of the lake], to the region of Dalmanutha. [Note: Matt. 15:39 says "Magadan," which was probably in the same vicinity as Dalmanutha].
And the Pharisees came out, and began to put questions to him, asking of him a sign from heaven, that they might tempt him.
Then Jesus ordered them, saying, "Pay attention and watch out for the leavening [effect] of the Pharisees and Herod." [Note: By "Herod" is probably meant the Herodians, who were a party favorable to King Herod and, along with the Pharisees and Sadducees, were out to get Jesus. See Matt. 16:6].
When I made a division of the five cakes of bread among the five thousand, what number of baskets full of broken bits did you take up? They said to him, Twelve.
"When I brake seven among four thousand how many baskets of the leavings of broken meat took ye up?" They said, "Seven."
And he comes to Bethsaida; and they bring him a blind man, and beseech him that he might touch him.
After that he put his hands again upon his eyes, and made him look up: and he was restored, and saw every man clearly.
And they made answer, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but others, One of the prophets.
For, what doth it profit a man, to gain the whole world, and be made to forfeit his life?
And he said to them, "I tell you, some of you who stand here will certainly live to see the reign of God come in its might."
And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James and John, and made them go up with him into a high mountain by themselves: and he was changed in form before them:
And his raiment did shine, and was made very white, even as snow: so white as no fuller can make upon the earth.
And Peter said to Jesus, "Rabbi [i.e., Teacher], it is good for us to be here. Let us build three small shelters, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah." [See note at Matt. 17:4]
And they kept the saying, questioning among themselves what the coming back from the dead might be.
And he said to them, Truly, Elijah does come first, and puts all things in order; and how is it said in the Writings that the Son of man will go through much sorrow and be made as nothing?
And one [individual] from the crowd answered him, "Teacher, I brought to you my son who has {a spirit that makes him mute}.
and wheresoever it seizes him it tears him, and he foams and gnashes his teeth, and he is withering away. And I spoke to thy disciples, that they might cast him out, and they could not.
and often it has cast him both into fire and into waters that it might destroy him: but if thou couldst do anything, be moved with pity on us, and help us.
Now [when] Jesus saw that a crowd was running together, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, "Mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him, and enter into him no more!"
and the spirit came out of him, having made him roar, and thrown him into such agonies, that he became like one that was dead, and many were of opinion he actually was so.
Then
But they made no answer, for on the way they had been discussing with one another which of them was the greatest.
And seating himself, he made the twelve come to him; and he said to them, If any man has the desire to be first, he will be last of all and servant of all.
And taking a young child He made him stand in their midst, then threw His arms round him and said,
John said to him, Master, we saw one driving out evil spirits in your name: and we said that he might not, because he is not one of us.
And whoever causes one of these little ones [i.e., humble followers of the Lord. See Matt. 18:6] who believes in me to be led astray [from God], he would have been better off to have had a huge millstone tied around his neck and thrown into the ocean [Note: This was a heavy, circular stone rolled over grain to crush it, and moved by an animal walking in a circle].
If your hand makes you fall, cut it off. You might better enter upon life maimed, than go with both your hands to the pit, into the fire that cannot be put out.
And if your foot makes you fall, cut it off. You might better enter upon life crippled, than be thrown with both your feet into the pit.
And if your eye makes you fall, tear it out. You might better get into the Kingdom of God with only one eye than be thrown with both your eyes into the pit,
Then He left there and went through the district of Judea and crossed the Jordan, and crowds of people again met around Him, and again He began to teach them, as His custom was.
And the Pharisees came to him, and that they might tempt him, asked him the question: Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife?
But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.
For this reason [i.e., since he made one woman for one man] a man will leave [the home of] his father and mother and will cling to his wife
and they twain shall be made one flesh.' So then are they now not twain, but one flesh.
And they brought little children to him that he might touch them. But the disciples rebuked those that brought them.
But when Jesus saw it, He was moved with [righteous] indignation, and said to them, "Allow these little children to come to me and stop trying to prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such [humble ones. See Matt. 18:4].
When he was set out upon his journey, there met him one, who kneeling down before him, said, good master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?
miles northeast of Jerusalem]. As He left there with His disciples and a large crowd, they met a blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sitting along side the road.
You know the commandments: Do not murder. Do not be sexually unfaithful to your mate. Do not steal. Do not give false testimony. Do not cheat. Show honor to your father and mother."
And they said to him, Give us that we might sit, one from thy right hand, and one front thy left, in thy glory.
