The kingdom of the heavens is like unto a certain man, a king, who made a marriage feast for his son

but I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, except for the cause of fornication, causes her to commit adultery; and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced commits adultery.

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife; and they shall be one flesh.

And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife separate from her husband; and if she separates, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband, and let not the husband put away his wife.

For this cause shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall join to his wife;

Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.

Let marriage be honourable in all and the bed undefiled; but the fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

Whosoever found a wife found a good thing and has attained the favour of the LORD.

take wives and beget sons and daughters; give wives unto your sons and give husbands unto your daughters, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be multiplied there and not diminished.

I desire therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, govern the house, giving no occasion to the adversary to speak reproachfully.

When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business; but he shall be free at home one year and shall cheer up his wife whom he has taken.

Husbands, love your wives even as the Christ also loved the congregation and gave himself for her,

Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them wisely, giving honour unto the woman, as unto a more fragile vessel and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers not be hindered.

Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter against them.

Drink waters out of thine own cistern and running waters out of thine own well. Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of thy waters in the streets. Let them be only thine own and not for strangers with thee. read more.

Keep thyself lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where thou must enter lest it be for a snare in the midst of thee; but ye shall destroy their altars, break their images, and cut down their groves; read more.

Now concerning the things of which ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman. Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence, and likewise also the wife unto the husband.

Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that also those who do not obey the Word, may be won without a word by the conversation of their wives, considering your chaste conversation which is in fear. Let their adorning not be outward with ostentatious hairdos and wearing of gold nor in composition of apparel, read more.
but let the interior adorning of the heart be without corruption, and of an agreeable spirit and peaceful, which is precious in the sight of God. Know ye not, brethren (for I speak to those that know the law), that the law has dominion over a man only as long as he lives? For the woman who is subject to a husband is obligated to the law so long as the husband lives; but if the husband dies, she is free from the law of the husband. So then if, while her husband lives, she belongs to another man, she shall be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law so that she is no adulteress if she belongs to another man.

and I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of the heavens and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell;

And Hamor, the father of Shechem, went out unto Jacob to speak with him.

This is the thing which the LORD commands concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry as they desire; but they shall marry only within the family of the tribe of their father so that the inheritance of the sons of Israel shall not be passed from tribe to tribe; for each one of the sons of Israel shall cleave to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers. They were women of the family of the sons of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father. For the woman who is subject to a husband is obligated to the law so long as the husband lives; but if the husband dies, she is free from the law of the husband.
