'Let There Be' in the Bible
God said, "Let there be light!" So there was light.
Then God said, "Let there be a canopy between bodies of water, separating bodies of water from bodies of water!"
Then God said, "Let there be lights across the sky to distinguish day from night, to act as signs for seasons, days, and years,
Then Gideon told God, "Don't let yourself be angry with me! I want to ask you once again: please let me make a test with the fleece just once more. Cause it to be dry only on the fleece, but let there be dew all around on the ground."
Let the stars of its evening twilight be dark; let it hope for light but let there be none; let it not see the breaking rays of the dawn.
Repent! Let there be no injustice; Change your ways! My vindication is at stake.
Obscene, flippant, or vulgar talk is totally inappropriate. Instead, let there be thanksgiving.
