Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy.

He who goes forth and weeps, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

A Song of degrees for Solomon. Unless Jehovah builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless Jehovah keeps the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Blessed is the man who has his quiver full of them; they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate.

A Song of degrees. Blessed is everyone who fears Jehovah, who walks in His ways.

Behold! So shall the man be blessed who fears Jehovah.

Let them all be ashamed and turned back, those who hate Zion.

And those who pass by have never said, The blessing of Jehovah be on you; we bless you in the name of Jehovah.

If You will keep in mind iniquities, O Jehovah, who shall stand, O Lord?

My soul waits for Jehovah more than morning-watchers who are watching for the morning.

A Song of degrees. Behold, bless Jehovah, all servants of Jehovah, who stand by night in the house of Jehovah.

May Jehovah, who made the heavens and earth, bless you out of Zion.

Those who stand in the house of Jehovah, in the courts of the house of our God,

He who struck the first-born of Egypt, both of man and animal;

who sent signs and wonders into your midst, O Egypt, on Pharaoh and on all his servants;

who struck great nations and killed mighty kings,

Those who make them are like them, everyone who trusts in them.

bless Jehovah, O house of Levi; you who fear Jehovah, bless Jehovah.

Blessed is Jehovah out of Zion, who dwells at Jerusalem. Praise Jehovah!

Remember, O Jehovah, the sons of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Make it bare! Make it bare, even to the foundation of it!

O daughter of Babylon, O destroyed one! Blessed is he who will repay to you your reward which you rewarded to us.

Blessed is he who seizes and dashes your little ones against the stones.

Who will speak against You maliciously? Your enemies are lifted up with vanity.

O Jehovah, do I not hate those who hate You? And am I not grieved with those who rise up against You?

who devised evil things in the heart; they are always gathered for war.

O Jehovah, keep me from the hands of the wicked; keep me from the violent man who purposed to trip up my steps.

Let not my heart turn aside to any evil thing, to practice wicked works with men who work iniquity; and let me not eat of their delicacies.

Hear me quickly, O Jehovah; my spirit fails; do not hide Your face from me, lest I be like those who go down into the Pit.

And out of Your mercy cut off my enemies, and destroy all those who afflict my soul; for I am Your servant.

A Psalm of David. Blessed is Jehovah my Rock, who teaches My hands for war, my fingers for battle.

He is my goodness and my fortress; my high tower and my deliverer; my shield and He in whom I trust; who humbles my people under me.

It is You who gives salvation to kings; who delivers David His servant from the hurtful sword.

Blessed are the peoples who are so; blessed are the peoples to whom Jehovah is their God.

Jehovah upholds all who fall, and raises up all those bowed down.

Jehovah is near all those who call on Him, all those who call on Him in truth.

He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry, and will save them.

Jehovah watches over all those who love Him; but all the wicked He will destroy.

Do not put your trust in princes, nor in the son of man in whom there is no salvation.

Blessed is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose help is in Jehovah his God,

who made the heavens and earth, the sea and all that is in it; who keeps truth forever;

who carries out judgment for the mistreated; who gives food to the hungry. Jehovah lets the prisoners loose;

the Lord opens the eyes of the blind; Jehovah raises those who are bowed down; Jehovah loves the righteous;

who covers the heavens with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow on the mountains.

Jehovah takes pleasure in those who fear Him, who hope in His mercy.

He casts forth His ice like crumbs; who can stand before His cold?

let us swallow them up alive as the grave, and whole, as those who go down into the pit;

So are the ways of everyone who gains unjust gain; it takes away its owners' life.

He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly.

to deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man who speaks wicked things;

those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness,

who rejoice to do evil and delight in the perversities of the wicked;

They will deliver you from the strange woman, the stranger who flatters with her words,

who forsakes the guide of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God.

All who go in to her do not return, nor do they take hold of the paths of life,

for whom Jehovah loves He corrects, even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gets understanding.

She is a tree of life to those who lay hold upon her; and happy is everyone who keeps her.

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.

For they are life to those who find them, and health to all his flesh.

and I have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor bowed down my ears to those who taught me!

who, having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

so shall your poverty come as one who travels, and your need like an armed man.

a false witness who speaks lies, and he who causes fighting among brothers.

So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife; whoever touches her shall not be innocent.

Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding; he who does it destroys his own soul.

so that they may keep you from the strange woman, from the stranger who flatters with her words.

They are all plain to him who understands, and right to those who find knowledge.

I love those who love me; and those who seek me early shall find me.

I may cause those who love me to inherit riches; and I will fill their treasuries.

And now listen to me, O sons; for blessed are those who keep my ways.

Blessed is the man who hears me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; all who hate me love death.

to call those who pass by, who are going straight on their ways;

He who deals with a lazy hand becomes poor; but the hand of the hard worker makes rich.

He who gathers in summer is a wise son; but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who causes shame.

He who walks uprightly walks surely; but he who twists his ways shall be known.

He who winks the eye causes sorrow; but a babbling fool shall fall.

In the lips of him who has understanding, wisdom is found; but a rod is for the back of him who is without understanding.

He who keeps instruction is in the way of life; but he who refuses reproof goes astray.

He who hides hatred with lying lips, and he who speaks a slander, is a fool.

In the multitude of words, sin is not lacking; but he who holds back his lips is wise.

Like vinegar to the teeth, and like smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who send him.

He who is surety for a stranger shall be ruined; and he who hates suretyship is safe.

The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.

They who are of a perverse heart are hateful to Jehovah, but the upright in the way are His delight.

Like a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a beautiful woman who turns aside discretion.

There is one who scatters and yet increases; but one who withholds just due comes only to poverty.

The soul who gives freely shall be made fat; and he who waters shall also be watered himself.

He who withholds grain, the people shall curse him; but blessing is on the head of him who sells.

He who carefully seeks good gets favor; but he who seeks mischief, it shall come to him.
