And it came to pass in those days, that He went out into the mountain to pray; and He was spending the whole night in prayer to God.
and those troubled with unclean spirits were being healed;
"But I say to you who hear, love your enemies; do good to those who hate you;
bless those who curse you; pray for those who revile you.
"And, if ye love those who love you, what charm have you? for even the sinners love those who love them.
"And, if ye do good to those who do good to you, what charm have you? even the sinners do the same.
"And, if ye lend to those from whom ye hope to receive, what charm have you? even the sinners lend to sinners, that they may receive back as much.
And those who were sent, having returned to the house, found the servant well.
And, going forward, He touched the bier; and those bearing it stood still; and He said, "Young man, I say to you, Arise!"
But what went ye forth to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? Behold, those clothed in splendid apparel, and living in luxury, are in kingly courts!
I say to you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; but the least in the Kingdom of God is greater than he."
And those reclining with Him began to say in themselves, "Who is This That even forgiveth sins!"
And, when a large multitude was coming together, and those from city after city were coming to Him, He spake through a parable:
And those by the wayside are those who heard; then the Devil comes, and takes away the word from their heart; lest, having believed, they should be saved.
"And those on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root; who, for a season, believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
"And that which fell among the thorns, these are those who heard; and, going forth, they are choked with anxieties, and riches, and pleasures of life, and bear no fruit to perfection.
"And no one, having lighted a lamp, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a lamp-stand, that those coming in may see the light;
And those feeding them, seeing what had taken place, fled, and carried the tidings into the city and into the country.
And those who saw it reported to them how the demon-possessed man was delivered.
But the multitudes, perceiving it, followed Him; and, having welcomed them, He was speaking to them concerning the Kingdom of God, and those having need of cure He healed.
And I tell you truly, there are some of those standing here who will in no wise taste of death, till they see the Kingdom of God."
Now Peter and those with him had become heavy with sleep; but, having watched through it, they saw His glory, and the two men who were standing with Him.
And, when the voice came, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent, and told no one, in those days, any of the things which they had seen.
And another said, "I will follow Thee, Lord; but first permit me to bid adieu to those within my house."
If ye, then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"
But He said, "Yea, rather, happy are those who hear the word of God, and keep it!"
"No one, having lighted a lamp, puts it in a cellar, or under a measure, but on a lamp-stand, that those who enter may see the light.
"But woe to you Pharisees! because ye tithe the mint, and the rue, and every herb; but ye pass by judgment and the love of God. Now these things it was needful to do, and not to leave those undone.
"Woe to you lawyers; because ye took away the Key of Knowledge; ye yourselves entered not in, and those who were entering ye hindered."
"And I say to you, my friends, be not frightened by those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do;
Happy are those servants, whom their lord, when coming, shall find watching! Verily I say to you, that he will gird himself, and make them recline; and, coming near, he will serve them.
Or those eighteen upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and slew them, suppose ye that they were offenders above all the men dwelling in Jerusalem?
And, when He said these things, all those opposing Him were being put to shame, and all the multitude were rejoicing because of all the glorious things which were being done by Him.
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills the prophets, and stones those sent to her; how often I wished to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is abandoned to you!
And He spake a parable to those who were bidden, when He observed how they were choosing out the first seats; saying to them,
And one of those reclining with Him, hearing these things, said to Him, "happy is he who shall eat bread in the Kingdom of God!"
And he sent forth his servant, at the hour of the supper, to say to those invited, 'Come; because all things are now ready.'
for I say to you, that no one of those men who have been invited shall taste of my supper."
And He said to them, "Ye are those who justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts; because that which is exalted among men is an abomination before God.
And, in all these things, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed; so that those wishing to cross from hence to you cannot; nor do they pass from thence to us.'
And Jesus, seeing him, said, "With what difficulty do those having riches enter into the Kingdom of God!
And those hearing it said, "And who can be saved?"
And those going before were rebuking him, that he should be silent; but he kept crying out much more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
And he said to those standing by, 'Take away from him the pound, and give it to him who has the ten pounds.'
And those sent, having gone away, found even as He said to them.
And, having entered into the temple, He began to cast out those who sold;
but those accounted worthy to obtain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage;
Then let those in Judaea flee into the mountains; and let those in the midst of it depart; and let not those in the country enter therein;
Woe to the women with child, and to those giving suck, in those days; for there will be great distress on the land, and wrath to this people.
for so it will come upon all those dwelling upon the face of all the earth.
But He said to them, "The kings of the gentiles exercise lordship over them; and those having authority over them are called 'Benefactors.'
And those about Him, seeing what was about to follow, said, "Lord, shall we smite with the sword?"
said to them, "Ye brought to me This Man as One perverting the people and, behold, I, having examined Him before you, found no fault in This Man regarding those things of which ye accuse Him;
And all those acquainted with Him stood afar off, and the women who followed with Him from Galilee, seeing these things.
And some of those with us went away to the tomb, and found it even so as the women said; but Him they saw not."
And, rising up that same hour, they returned to Jerusalem; and they found the eleven gathered together, and those with them,
He came to His own possessions, and those who were His own received Him not.
But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those believing in His name;
They said therefore, to him, "Who are you? that we may give an answer to those who sent us. What do you say concerning yourself?"
And He found in the temple those selling oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting.
and to those selling doves, He said, "Take these things hence! make not My Father's house a house of merchandise!"
God is a spirit; and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."
In these were lying a multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, withered, [waiting for the moving of the waters:
Verily, verily, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those having heard shall live.
and come forth; those who did good, to the resurrection of life; but those who practiced evil, to the resurrection of judgment.
Jesus, therefore, took the loaves; and, having given thanks, He distributed to those reclining; and likewise of the fishes as much as they wished.
So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with pieces from the five barley loaves, which remained over to those who had eaten.
But there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were that believed not, and who it was that would betray Him.
Some, therefore, of those of Jerusalem said, "Is not This He Whom they are seeking to kill?
But of the multitude many believed on Him, and said, "When the Christ shall come, will He do more signs than those which This Man did?"
But this He spake concerning the Spirit, Whom those who believed on Him were about to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Jesus, therefore, said to those Jews who had believed on Him, "If ye abide in My word, ye are truly My disciples;
The neighbors, therefore, and those formerly beholding him, that he was a beggar, said, "Is not this he that sits and begs?"
And Jesus said, "For judgment came I into the world; that those who see not may see, and that those who see may become blind."
Those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things, and said to Him, "Are we also blind?"
Jesus answered them, "Many good works did I show you from My Father; for which of those works do ye stone Me?"
They, therefore, made Him a supper there; and Martha was serving; but Lazarus was one of those reclining at table with Him.
And there were some Greeks among those who came up to worship at the feast.
And no one of those reclining knew for what purpose He spake this to him;
