So that he made their hearts weighted down with grief; they were falling, and had no helper.

Whoso is wise will give heed to these things; And they will consider the lovingkindnesses of Jehovah.

God had promised in his sanctuary: "I will triumph and divide Shechem, then I will measure the valley of Succoth!

Gilead is mine; Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

For the mouth of the unjust, and the mouth of deceit opened against me; they eke with me the tongue of false-hood.

They also surround me with words of hate, and fight me without cause.

Let the wickedness of his fathers be had in remembrance in the sight of LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be done away.

As he took pleasure in cursing, so let it come on him; and as he had no delight in blessing, let it be far from him.

He will judge among the nations, He will fill the places with dead bodies; He will strike through the head in many countries.

The merciful and gracious LORD hath so done his marvelous works, that they ought to be had in remembrance.


The cords and sorrows of death encompassed me,
