And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
And she said, Who would have said to Abraham that Sarah would have a child at her breast? for see, I have given him a son now when he is old.
And when the child was old enough to be taken from the breast, Abraham made a great feast.
Nevertheless, when Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian whom Hagar had borne to Abraham making fun of Isaac,
When the water in the skin was all gone, Hagar abandoned the boy under one of the bushes.
Then Abraham complained to Abimelech about a well of water which the servants of Abimelech had [violently] seized [from him],
And when they had solemnised a covenant in Beer-sheba, - then arose Abimelech, with Phicol chief of his host, and returned unto the land of the Philistines.
Early in the morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took two of his young servants with him, along with his son Isaac. When he had cut the wood for the burnt offering, he started out for the place God had spoken to him about.
When they came to the place of which God had told him, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood, and bound Isaac his son and placed him on the altar, on top of the wood.
Then he said, Do not put forth thy hand unto the young man, neither do to him - anything at all, - for, now, know I that one who reverest God, thou art, when thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only one, from me.
And he made the camels kneel down outside the city by a well of water, at the time of the evening, when the women came out to draw water.
That's when he prayed, "LORD God of my master Abraham, help me to succeed today. Please show your gracious love to my master Abraham.
And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.
And it came to pass when the camels had drunk enough, that the man took a gold ring, of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands, ten shekels weight of gold,
And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well.
and he said, Come in. thou blessed of Yahweh, - Wherefore shouldst thou stand outside, when I have made ready the house and a place for the camels?
But when they had prepared a meal and set it in front of him, he said, "I'm not eating until I've spoken." "Speak up!" Laban exclaimed.
And Sarah my master's wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him hath he given all that he hath.
Then shalt thou be clear from this my oath, when thou comest to my kindred; and if they give not thee one, thou shalt be clear from my oath.
“Today when I came to the spring, I prayed: Lord, God of my master Abraham, if only You will make my journey successful!
Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink;
I had not yet finished speaking to myself when, behold, Rebekah [was] coming out with her jar on her shoulder. And she went down to the spring and drew water. And I said to her, 'Please give me a drink.'
"That's when I asked, "Whose daughter are you?' "She replied, "I'm the daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bore for him.'
And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshipped the LORD, bowing himself to the earth.
Then he and the men with him ate and drank and spent the night.
When they got up in the morning, he said, “Send me to my master.”
And he said unto them, Do not hinder me, when, Yahweh, hath prospered my journey, - Let me go, that I may take my journey unto my lord!
And when the evening was near, he went wandering out into the fields, and lifting up his eyes he saw camels coming.
and then fell sick and died, in a lusty age - when he had lived enough - and was put unto his people.
And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padanaram, the sister to Laban the Syrian.
But when the infants kept on wrestling each other inside her womb, she asked herself, "Why is this happening?" So she asked the LORD for an explanation.
And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.
When the boys grew up, Esau was an able and skilled hunter, a man of the outdoors, but Jacob was a quiet and peaceful man, living in tents.
Jacob had cooked [reddish-brown lentil] stew [one day], when Esau came from the field and was famished;
That's when the LORD appeared to Isaac. "You are not to go down to Egypt," he said. "Instead, you are to settle down in an area within this land where I'll tell you.
When the men of the place asked concerning his wife, he said, "She [is] my sister," for he was afraid to say, "my wife," thinking "the men of the place will kill me on account of Rebekah, for {she was beautiful}."
And it came to pass, when he had been there a long time, that Abimelech king of the Philistines looked out at a window, and saw, and, behold, Isaac was sporting with Rebekah his wife.
When Isaac planted in that land, he reaped in the same year a hundred times what he had sown, because the Lord blessed him.
And when the servants of Isaac dug in the valley, they found a well of fresh water there.
When his workers started digging another well, those herdsmen quarreled about that one, too, so Isaac named it Sitnah.
And Esau was forty years old when he took to wife Judith the daughter of Beeri the Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon the Hittite:
And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I.
Isaac said, “See here, I am old;
And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it.
When he came to his father, he said, “My father.”
And he answered, “Here I am. Who are you, my son?”
So Jacob came closer to his father Isaac. When he touched him, he said, “The voice is the voice of Jacob, but the hands are the hands of Esau.”
So he came closer and kissed him. When Isaac smelled

that the Lord has blessed.
And it came to pass when Isaac had ended blessing Jacob, and when Jacob was only just gone out from Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came from his hunting.
And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father, Bless me, even me also, O my father.
And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck.
So Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing with which his father blessed him; and Esau said in his heart, “The days of mourning for my father are very near; then I will kill my brother Jacob.”
When the words of her older son Esau were reported to Rebekah, she summoned her younger son Jacob and said to him, “Listen, your brother Esau is consoling himself by planning to kill you.
When your brother’s anger toward you subsides and he forgets what you did to him, then
When Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob, and sent him away to Padanaram, to take him a wife from thence; and that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan;

And when Jacob told Rachel that he was her father's brother, and that he was Rebekah's son, then ran she, and told her father.
And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister's son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things.
But in the evening he took Leah his daughter and brought her to Jacob, and Jacob
When morning came, there was Leah! So he said to Laban, “What is this you have done to me? Wasn’t it for Rachel that I worked for you? Why have you deceived me?”

But when the cattle were feeble, he put them not in: so the feebler were Laban's, and the stronger Jacob's.
When Jacob saw the look on Laban's face, he could tell his attitude toward him had changed.
"When Laban said, "The speckled ones will be your wages,' then all the flock gave birth to speckled ones. Then when he said, "The streaked ones will be your wages,' all the flock gave birth to streaked offspring.
“When the flocks were breeding, I saw in a dream that the streaked, spotted, and speckled males were mating with the females.
When Laban had gone to shear his sheep, Rachel stole her father’s household idols.
so he took his relatives with him and pursued Jacob. Laban was on the road for seven days when he finally caught up with Jacob in the hill country of Gilead.

And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him.
