And I said unto him, lord, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are those who came out of great tribulation and have washed their long robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. For our tribulation, which is momentary and light, prepares an exceeding and eternal weight of glory unto us;
Behold, blessed is the man whom God chastens; therefore, do not despise not the correction of the Almighty.

It is true that no chastening at present seems to be cause for joy, but rather for grief; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto those who are exercised by it.

confirming the souls of the disciples and exhorting them to remain in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
