'Along' in the Bible
Then the people of Jerusalem, all Judea, and the entire region along the Jordan began flocking to him,
Once more the Devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world, along with their splendor.
Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali,along the sea road, beyond the Jordan,Galilee of the Gentiles!
As He was walking along the Sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers, Simon, who was called Peter, and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the sea, since they were fishermen.
And [when] he came to the other side, to the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from among the tombs met him, very violent, so that no one was able to pass by along that road.
So Jesus got up and followed him, along with his disciples.
Don’t take along gold, silver, or copper for your money-belts.
Then some of the experts in the law along with some Pharisees answered him, "Teacher, we want to see a sign from you."
Then it goes and takes along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. That is the way it will also be with this evil generation.”
As he was sowing, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and ate them up.
When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one sown along the path.
but since he doesn't have any root in himself, he lasts for only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes along because of the word, he immediately falls away.
But he said, ‘No; because as you pull out the weeds, you may uproot the wheat with them.
Moving on from there, Jesus passed along the Sea of Galilee. He went up on a mountain and sat there,
When his disciples reached the other side, they had forgotten to take any bread along.
As they began to discuss this among themselves, they kept saying, "We didn't bring along any bread."
And after six days Jesus took along Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves.
But if he does not listen, take along with you one or two others, so that every word may be confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
But since he did not have the means to repay, his lord commanded him to be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment to be made.
“For the kingdom of heaven is like the owner of an estate who went out in the morning at dawn to hire workmen for his vineyard.
When Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and told them as they were walking along,
and most of the crowd kept spreading their garments along the road, while others cut branches from the trees and carpeted the road with them,
They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. They said, "Teacher, we know that you are sincere and that you teach the way of God truthfully. You don't favor any individual, because you pay no attention to external appearance.
And [as] Jesus went out of the temple [courts] he was going along, and his disciples came up to point out to him the buildings of the temple.
but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps.
Taking along Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed.
In the same way the high priests, along with the scribes and elders, were also making fun of him. They kept saying,
Among them was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.
And they went and made the grave secure, and along with the guard they set a seal on the stone.
As He was passing along by the Sea of Galilee, He saw Simon and Andrew, Simon’s brother. They were casting a net into the sea, since they were fishermen.
After they left the synagogue, they went directly to the house of Simon and Andrew, along with James and John.
Jesus went out again along the [Galilean] seashore; and all the people were coming to Him, and He was teaching them.
As he was walking along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax collector's desk. Jesus told him, "Follow me!" So Levi got up and followed him.
And it came to pass -- he is going along on the sabbaths through the corn-fields -- and his disciples began to make a way, plucking the ears,
As he sowed, this occurred: Some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
As soon as He was alone, His followers, along with the twelve, began asking Him about the parables.
These are the ones along the path where the word is sown: when they hear, immediately Satan comes and takes away the word sown in them.
but since they don't have any roots, they last for only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes along because of the word, they immediately fall away.
So they left the crowd and took Him along since He was already in the boat. And other boats were with Him.
And he did not allow anyone to follow along with him except Peter and James and John, the brother of James.
They laughed and laughed at him. But when he had driven all of them outside, he took the child's father and mother, along with the men who were with him, and went into the room where the child was.
He instructed them to take nothing along on the trip except a walking stick no bread, no traveling bag, nothing in their moneybag.
If I send them away to their homes hungry, they will faint [from exhaustion] on the road; because some of them have come a long way.”
Now the disciples had forgotten to take any bread along, but they had one loaf with them in the boat.
Jesus went out, along with His disciples, to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He questioned His disciples, saying to them, “Who do people say that I am?”
Summoning the crowd along with His disciples, He said to them, “If anyone wants to be My follower, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.
And after six days, Jesus took along Peter and James and John, and led them to a high mountain by themselves alone. And he was transfigured before them,
Elijah appeared to them along with Moses; and they were talking with Jesus.
They went on from there and began to go through Galilee. Jesus did not want anyone to know it,
John said to Him, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to stop him because he was not accompanying us [as Your disciple].”
who will not receive a hundred times as much here in this world homes, brothers, sisters, mothers, children, and fields, along with persecution as well as eternal life in the age to come.
And they came to Jericho. And [as] he was setting out from Jericho along with his disciples and a large crowd, a blind beggar, Bartimaeus the son of Timaeus, was sitting beside the road.
"Go," said Jesus, "your faith has cured you." Instantly he regained his sight, and followed Him along the road.
and told them, "Go into the village ahead of you. As soon as you go into it, you will find a colt tied up that no one has ever ridden. Untie it, and bring it along.
While they were walking along early the next morning, they saw the fig tree dried up to its roots.
When however they are marching you along under arrest, do not be anxious beforehand about what you are to say, but speak what is given you when the time comes; for it will not be you who speak, but the Holy Spirit.
He took Peter, James, and John along with him, and he began to feel distressed and troubled.
One Simon, a Cyrenaean, the father of Alexander and Rufus, was passing along, coming from the country: him they compelled to carry His cross.
In the same way, the high priests, along with the scribes, were also making fun of him among themselves. They kept saying, "He saved others, but can't save himself!
After that, He appeared in a different form to two of them while they were walking along on their way to the country.
But they had no children because Elizabeth could not conceive, and both of them were well along in years.
“How can I know this?” Zechariah asked the angel. “For I am an old man, and my wife is well along in years.”
to be registered along with Mary, who was engaged to him and was pregnant.
There was also a prophetess, Anna, a daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was well along in years, having lived with her husband seven years after her marriage,
Then, along with many other exhortations, he proclaimed good news to the people.
He told Jesus, "I will give you all this authority, along with their glory, because it has been given to me, and I give it to anyone I please.
But He was aware of their thoughts, and He said to the man with the withered hand, “Get up and come forward.” So he got up and stood there.
Then Jesus came down with them and stood on a level place, along with many of his disciples and a large gathering of people from all over Judea, Jerusalem, and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon.
Soon afterwards, Jesus went to a city called Nain. His disciples and a large crowd were going along with him.
“A sower went out to sow his seed. As he was sowing, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the sky ate it up.
The seed along the path are those who have heard and then the Devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.
And the [seed] that fell into the thorn plants--these are the ones who hear and [as they] go along are choked by the worries and riches and pleasures of life, and they do not bear fruit to maturity.
Then Jesus’ mother and His brothers came up toward Him, but they could not reach Him because of the crowd.
But as they were sailing along He fell asleep; and a fierce gale of wind descended on the lake, and they began to be swamped and to be in danger.
He told them, "Don't take anything along on your trip no walking stick, traveling bag, bread, money, or even an extra shirt.
When the apostles returned, they reported to Jesus all that they had done. He took them along and withdrew privately to a town called Bethsaida.
About eight days after these words, He took along Peter, John, and James and went up on the mountain to pray.
John answered and said, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name; and we tried to prevent him because he does not follow along with us.”
He sent messengers on ahead of him. As they went along, they entered a Samaritan village to make things ready in advance for him,
While they were walking along the road, a man told him, "I will follow you wherever you go."
Don’t carry a money-bag, traveling bag, or sandals; don’t greet anyone along the road.
By chance, a priest was traveling along that road. When he saw the man, he went by on the other side.
But as he was traveling along, a Samaritan came across the man. When the Samaritan saw him, he was moved with compassion.
Now as they were traveling along, Jesus went into a village. A woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.
and Martha was distracted about much serving, and having stood by him, she said, 'Sir, dost thou not care that my sister left me alone to serve? say then to her, that she may partake along with me.'
Then it goes and takes along seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”
And the master said to the slave, ‘Go out into the highways and along the hedges, and compel them to come in, so that my house may be filled.
Now large crowds were going along with Him; and He turned and said to them,
One day, Jesus was traveling along the border between Samaria and Galilee on the way to Jerusalem.
When he saw them he said, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went along, they were cleansed.
"Go into the village ahead of you," he said. "As you enter, you will find a colt tied up that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it along.
As He was going along, they were spreading their robes on the road.
because I will give you the ability to speak, along with wisdom, that none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute.
Now when the hour came, Jesus took his place at the table, along with his apostles.
Then he told them, "But now whoever has a wallet must take it along, and his traveling bag, too. And the one who has no sword must sell his coat and buy one.
When they arrived at the place called The Skull, they crucified Him there, along with the criminals, one on the right and one on the left.
The women who had come with Him from Galilee followed along and observed the tomb and how His body was placed.
And while they were discussing and arguing, Jesus Himself came near and began to walk along with them.
He asked them, "What are you discussing with each other as you're walking along?" They stood still and looked gloomy.
