'Good' in the Bible
He has satisfied the hungry with good thingsand sent the rich away empty.
But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people:
Even now the ax is ready to strike the root of the trees! Therefore, every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.”
Then, along with many other exhortations, he proclaimed good news to the people.

But love your enemies, do what is good, and lend, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is gracious to the ungrateful and evil.
Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over—will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”
“A good tree doesn’t produce bad fruit; on the other hand, a bad tree doesn’t produce good fruit.
A good man produces good out of the good storeroom of his heart. An evil man produces evil out of the evil storeroom, for his mouth speaks from the overflow of the heart.
When those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the slave in good health.
He replied to them, “Go and report to John the things you have seen and heard: The blind receive their sight, the lame walk, those with skin diseases are healed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor are told the good news.

For I do not do the good that I want to do, but I practice the evil that I do not want to do.
So I discover this principle: When I want to do what is good, evil is with me.
We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God: those who are called according to His purpose.
For though her sons had not been born yet or done anything good or bad, so that God’s purpose according to election might stand—
And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who announce the gospel of good things!
Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.
Love must be without hypocrisy. Detest evil; cling to what is good.
Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have its approval.
For government is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For government is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong.
Each one of us must please his neighbor for his good, to build him up.
