She has fallen;Virgin Israel will never rise again.She lies abandoned on her land,with no one to raise her up.
When the locusts finished eating the vegetation of the land, I said, “Lord God, please forgive! How will Jacob survive since he is so small?”
The Lord God showed me this: The Lord God was calling for a judgment by fire. It consumed the great deep and devoured the land.
Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent word to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you right here in the house of Israel. The land cannot endure all his words,
Then Amaziah said to Amos, “Go away, you seer! Flee to the land of Judah. Earn your living and give your prophecies there,
Therefore, this is what the Lord says:Your wife will be a prostitute in the city,your sons and daughters will fall by the sword,and your land will be divided upwith a measuring line.You yourself will die on pagan soil,and Israel will certainly go into exilefrom its homeland.
Hear this, you who trample on the needyand do away with the poor of the land,
Because of this, won’t the land quakeand all who dwell in it mourn?All of it will rise like the Nile;it will surge and then subsidelike the Nile in Egypt.
And in that day—this is the declaration of the Lord God—I will make the sun go down at noon;I will darken the land in the daytime.
Hear this! The days are coming—this is the declaration of the Lord God—when I will send a famine through the land:not a famine of bread or a thirst for water,but of hearing the words of the Lord.
Israelites, are you not like the Cushites to Me?This is the Lord’s declaration.Didn’t I bring Israel from the land of Egypt,the Philistines from Caphtor,and the Arameans from Kir?
I will plant them on their land,and they will never again be uprootedfrom the land I have given them.Yahweh your God has spoken.
People from the Negev will possessthe hill country of Esau;those from the Judean foothills will possessthe land of the Philistines.They will possessthe territories of Ephraim and Samaria,while Benjamin will possess Gilead.
He answered them, “I’m a Hebrew. I worship Yahweh, the God of the heavens, who made the sea and the dry land.”
Nevertheless, the men rowed hard to get back to dry land, but they couldn’t because the sea was raging against them more and more.
Then the Lord commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.
In that day one will take up a taunt against you,and lament mournfully, saying,“We are totally ruined!He measures out the allotted land of my people.How He removes it from me!He allots our fields to traitors.”
Therefore, there will be no onein the assembly of the Lordto divide the land by casting lots.

For the Lord of Hosts says this: “Once more, in a little while, I am going to shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land.
I asked, “What are they coming to do?”He replied, “These are the horns that scattered Judah so no one could raise his head. These craftsmen have come to terrify them, to cut off the horns of the nations that raised their horns against the land of Judah to scatter it.”
“Get up! Leave the land of the north”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“for I have scattered you like the four winds of heaven”—this is the Lord’s declaration.
The Lord will take possession of Judah as His portion in the Holy Land, and He will once again choose Jerusalem.
Notice the stone I have set before Joshua; on that one stone are seven eyes. I will engrave an inscription on it”—this is the declaration of the Lord of Hosts—“and I will take away the guilt of this land in a single day.
Then he said to me, “This is the curse that is going out over the whole land, for every thief will be removed according to what is written on one side, and everyone who swears falsely will be removed according to what is written on the other side.
So I asked, “What is it?”He responded, “It’s a measuring basket that is approaching.” And he continued, “This is their iniquity in all the land.”
“To build a shrine for it in the land of Shinar,” he told me. “When that is ready, the basket will be placed there on its pedestal.”
The one with the black horses is going to the land of the north, the white horses are going after them, but the dappled horses are going to the land of the south.”
Then He summoned me saying, “See, those going to the land of the north have pacified My Spirit in the northern land.”
“Ask all the people of the land and the priests: When you fasted and lamented in the fifth and in the seventh months for these 70 years, did you really fast for Me?

The Lord of Hosts says this: “I will save My people from the land of the east and the land of the west.
“For they will sow in peace: the vine will yield its fruit, the land will yield its produce, and the skies will yield their dew. I will give the remnant of this people all these things as an inheritance.

The Lord their God will save them on that dayas the flock of His people;for they are like jewels in a crown,sparkling over His land.

On that day”—this is the declaration of the Lord of Hosts—“I will erase the names of the idols from the land, and they will no longer be remembered. I will remove the prophets and the unclean spirit from the land.
In the whole land—this is the Lord’s declaration—two-thirds will be cut off and die,but a third will be left in it.
All the land from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem will be changed into a plain. But Jerusalem will be raised up and will remain on its site from the Benjamin Gate to the place of the First Gate, to the Corner Gate, and from the Tower of Hananel to the royal winepresses.
“Then all the nations will consider you fortunate, for you will be a delightful land,” says the Lord of Hosts.
And he will turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers. Otherwise, I will come and strike the land with a curse.”
And you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah,are by no means least among the leaders of Judah:because out of you will come a leaderwho will shepherd My people Israel.”
saying, “Get up! Take the child and His mother and go to the land of Israel, because those who sought the child’s life are dead.”
So he got up, took the child and His mother, and entered the land of Israel.
Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali,along the sea road, beyond the Jordan,Galilee of the Gentiles!
I assure you: It will be more tolerable on the day of judgment for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.
But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”
But the boat was already over a mile from land, battered by the waves, because the wind was against them.
