Then he said to his disciples, "Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to him through whom they do come!
But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

But Jesus called them to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of God.
So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.
But when he heard this, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich.
But he said, "What is impossible with men is possible with God."
But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know what he was talking about.
And those who led the way rebuked him, telling him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature.
But his citizens hated him and sent a delegation after him, saying, 'We do not want this man to reign over us.'
'I tell you, that to every one who has will more be given; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away.
But those enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them before me.'"
saying, "If you had known, even you, this day, the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.
saying to them, "It is written, 'My house shall be a house of prayer'; but you have made it a den of robbers."
And he was teaching daily in the temple. But the chief priests the scribes and the leaders of the people sought to destroy him,
but they could not find anything they could do, for all the people hung upon his words.
But if we say, 'From men,' all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet."
At harvest time he sent a servant to the tenants, that they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed.
But when the tenants saw him, they reasoned among themselves and said, 'This is the heir. Let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.'
But he looked at them and said, "What then is this that is written: 'The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone'?
Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder."
The chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him that very hour, but they feared the peoplefor they knew that he had spoken this parable against them.
And they asked him, "Teacher, we know that you speak and teach rightly, and you do not show partiality, but teach the way of God in truth.
But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them,
And they were not able in the presence of the people to catch him by what he said. But marveling at his answer they were silent.
and they questioned him, "Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies, having a wife but no children, the man must take the wife and raise up children for his brother.
But those who are considered worthy to attain that age and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage,
But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the passage about the bush, where he calls the Lord 'the God of Abraham and the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.'
Now he is not the God of the dead but of the living, for all live to him."
for these all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had to live on."
And when you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be terrified; for these things must first take place, but the end will not come immediately."
But before all this, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. And you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake.

He said to them, "But now, let him who has a purse take it, and likewise a bag; and let him who has no sword sell his robe and buy one.
"Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; nevertheless not my will, but yours, be done."
but Jesus said to him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"
But Jesus answered, "No more of this!" And he touched his ear and healed him.
When I was with you day after day in the temple, you did not lay hands on me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness."
But he denied it, saying, "Woman, I do not know him."
And a little later some one else saw him and said, "You also are of them." But Peter said, "Man, I am not!"
But Peter said, "Man, I do not know what you are saying!" Immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.
"If you are the Christ, tell us." But he said to them, "If I tell you, you will not believe.
But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God."
But they were urgent, saying, "He stirs up the people, teaching throughout all Judea, from Galilee to this place."
Then he questioned him with many words, but he gave him no answer.
But they all cried out together, "Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas"
But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices that he be crucified. And their voices prevailed.
And he released the man who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder, the one they asked for; but Jesus he delivered up to their will.
But Jesus turning to them said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
And the people stood watching; but even the rulers sneered at him, saying, "He saved others; let him save himself if he is the Christ of God, the Chosen One."
But the other rebuked him, saying, "Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation?
And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong."
But all his acquaintances, and the women who had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.
but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.
He is not here, but is risen! Remember how he told you while he was still in Galilee,
But their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them.
But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen wrappings lying by themselves; and he went away, marveling to himself at what had happened.

And he said to him, "Every man sets out the good wine first; and when the guests have drunk freely, then the poor wine; but you have kept the good wine until now."
But Jesus did not trust himself to them, because he knew all men,
The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and testify to what we have seen; but you do not receive our testimony.
No one has ascended into heaven, but he who came from heaven the Son of Man.
