When he was in Jerusalem at the Passover feast, many saw the signs he did and expressed active faith in his name.

Jehovah said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt: This month shall be the beginning of months for you. It is to be the first month of the year to you. There should be another holy assembly on the seventh day. No work at all will be done on them, except what must be eaten by every person that alone may be prepared by you. The people picked up their bread dough before it had risen. They carried it on their shoulders in bowls and wrapped up in their clothes. The sons of Israel did what Moses told them. They asked the Egyptians for gold and silver jewelry and for clothes. Jehovah made the Egyptians generous to the people. They gave them what they asked for. So the sons of Israel stripped Egypt of its wealth. The Israelites left Rameses to go to Succoth. There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, plus all the women and children. Many other people also went with them, along with large numbers of sheep, goats, and cattle. With the dough they had brought from Egypt, they baked round, flat bread. The dough had not risen because they had been thrown out of Egypt and had no time to prepare food for the trip. The Israelites had been living in Egypt for four hundred and thirty years. After exactly four hundred and thirty years all of Jehovah's people left Egypt in organized family groups. It is a night to be observed for Jehovah for having brought them out from the land of Egypt. This night is for Jehovah and should be observed by all the sons of Israel throughout their generations. Jehovah said to Moses and Aaron: This is the ordinance of the Passover: no foreigner is to eat of it. After you have circumcised your purchased slave he may eat of it. No foreigner visiting you may eat it. No hired worker may eat it. The meal must be eaten inside one house. Never take any of the meat outside the house. Do not break any of the bones. The entire community of Israel must celebrate the Passover. The uncircumcised man may not eat it. If a foreigner has settled among you and wants to celebrate Passover to honor Jehovah, you must first circumcise all the males of his household. He is then to be treated like a native-born Israelite and may join in the festival. The same regulations apply to native-born Israelites and to foreigners who settle among you.

In the month of Abib, the month in which you left Egypt, celebrate the Festival of Unleavened Bread in the way that I commanded you. It was a custom for the governor to set one prisoner free at the time of the feast. The people were to help choose that prisoner.

They lead Jesus from Caiaphas into the Praetorium. It was early and they did not enter directly into the Praetorium, that they might not be defiled, but might eat the Passover.

As you know, the Passover will be here in two days. At that time the Son of man will be captured and impaled.

It was just two days until the feast of the Passover and the unleavened bread. The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might quietly capture and kill him. They said: Not during the feast for it might cause the people to riot.

the priests and the Levites made themselves clean together. They were all clean when they put the Passover lamb to death for all those who had come back, and for their brothers the priests and for themselves.

Many people in the assembly had not made themselves holy. So the Levites had to kill the Passover lambs for all who were not clean and could not make their lambs holy for Jehovah.

He told the Levites, who instructed all Israel and performed ceremonies to make themselves holy to Jehovah: Put the Holy Ark in the Temple that Solomon, son of David and king of Israel, built. Conaniah and his brothers Shemaiah and Nethanel, and Hashabiah, Jeiel, and Jozabad, the leaders of the Levites, gave the Levites five thousand sheep and goats and five hundred bulls as Passover sacrifices. Thus the service was prepared. The priests took their positions with the Levites according to their divisions, as the king had ordered. They slaughtered the Passover lambs. The priests sprinkled the blood with their hands while the Levites skinned the lambs.

Josiah celebrated the Passover to Jehovah in Jerusalem. The Passover lamb was slaughtered on the fourteenth day of the first month.

Truly, such a Passover had not been kept in all the days of the judges of Israel or of the kings of Israel or the kings of Judah. In the eighteenth year of the rule of King Josiah this Passover was kept to Jehovah in Jerusalem.

The Passover had not been celebrated like this since the days of the prophet Samuel. None of the former kings had ever celebrated a Passover like this one celebrated by King Josiah, the priests, the Levites, and the people of Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem

There were some men who had become unclean from touching a dead body. They could not celebrate the Passover that day. They went to Moses and Aaron. They said: We are unclean because we touched a dead body. Why are we prevented from making our offerings to Jehovah at the same time the rest of the Israelites bring their offerings? Moses answered: Wait here until I find out what Jehovah commands you to do. read more.
Jehovah said to Moses, Tell the Israelites: Should you or any of your descendants be unclean from touching a dead body or away on a long trip. You may still celebrate the Passover. You will celebrate it on the fourteenth day of the second month at dusk. Eat the Passover animal along with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. The king, his officials, and the whole assembly in Jerusalem decided to celebrate the Passover in the second month. They could not celebrate it at the regular time because not enough priests had performed the ceremonies to make themselves holy and the people had not gathered in Jerusalem. The king and the entire assembly considered their plan to be the right thing to do.

The uncircumcised man may not eat it. If a foreigner has settled among you and wants to celebrate Passover to honor Jehovah, you must first circumcise all the males of his household. He is then to be treated like a native-born Israelite and may join in the festival. The same regulations apply to native-born Israelites and to foreigners who settle among you.

Foreigners living with you may want to celebrate Jehovah's Passover. They must follow these same rules and regulations. The same rules will apply to foreigners and native-born Israelites.'

On the fourteenth day of the first month, you will celebrate the Passover, a festival lasting seven days when unleavened bread is eaten. You are not allowed to sacrifice the Passover in any of your towns Jehovah your God is giving you. It must be at the place where Jehovah your God chooses to establish his name. Sacrifice the Passover in the evening at sunset, at the time that you came out of Egypt. Cook and eat it in the place Jehovah your God chooses. In the morning you are to return to your tents.

Hezekiah sent a message to all Israel and Judah. He wrote letters to the tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh. He invited them to come to Jehovah's Temple in Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover of Jehovah the God of Israel.

If you are clean and not on a trip and yet do not bother to celebrate the Passover, you must be excluded from the people. You did not bring your offering to Jehovah at the right time. You must suffer the consequences for your sin.
