Think of the crows! They do not sow or reap, and they have no storehouses or barns, and God feeds them. How much more you are worth than the birds!

Blessed are the slaves whom their master will find on the watch when he comes. I tell you, he will gird up his robe and make them take their places at table, and go around and wait on them.

Then you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you will be repaid at the resurrection of the upright."

But his father said to his slaves, 'Make haste and get out the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet;

for I was afraid of you, for you are a stern man. You pick up what you did not lay down, and reap what you did not sow.'

And Herod and his guards made light of him and ridiculed him, and they put a gorgeous robe on him and sent him back to Pilate.
