While Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem, He was passing [along the border] between Samaria and Galilee.

After Jesus had said these things He went out with His disciples across the Kidron valley. [Note: This was a "wadi," or dry creek bed which carried a torrent of water during the rainy season. It ran parallel with the east wall of Jerusalem, between the city and the Mount of Olives]. There was an [olive] orchard there and Jesus and His disciples went into it.
There they crucified Him, and with Him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them.

And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.
The dispute was becoming so violent, that the Commanding Officer, fearing that Paul would be torn in pieces between them, ordered the Guard to go down and rescue him from them, and take him into the Fort.
So, the soldiers took charge of Paul and took him at night to Antipatris [Note: This was a town on the road between Jerusalem and Caesarea] as they were ordered.
