And let our two peoples be joined together; give your daughters to us, and take our daughters for yourselves.
And Shechem said to her father and to her brethren, Let me find favour in your eyes; and what ye shall say to me I will give.
However great you make the bride-price and payment, I will give it; only let me have the girl for my wife.
These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade in it. And the land behold, it is of wide extent before them. We will take their daughters as wives, and give them our daughters.

"Let me tell you about this dream that I had!" he said.
So Israel said unto Joseph Are not, thy brethren, feeding the flock in Shechem? Come on! and let me send thee unto them. And he said to him Behold me!
And the man said, They have removed from this; for I heard them say, Let us go to Dothan. And Joseph went after his brethren, and found them at Dothan.
And now come and let us kill him, and cast him into one of the pits, and we will say, An evil beast has devoured him; and we will see what becomes of his dreams.
And Reuben heard it, and delivered him out of their hand, and said, Let us not take his life.
Reuben told them. "And no blood shedding, either. Instead, let's toss him into this cistern that's way out here in the wilderness. But don't lay a hand on him." (Reuben intended to free Joseph and return him to his father.)
Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites; but let not our hand be upon him; for he is our brother, our flesh. And his brethren hearkened to him.
But Onan, seeing that the offspring would not be his, went in to his brother's wife, but let his seed go on to the earth, so that he might not get offspring for his brother.

Now Joseph was well built and good looking. That's why, sometime later, Joseph's master's wife looked straight at Joseph and propositioned him: "Come on! Let's have a little sex!"
so she grabbed Joseph by his outer garment and demanded "Let's have some sex!"
And it will be when she saw that he let go his garment in her hand and will flee without,
She sent for the men of her house and said to them, See, he has let a Hebrew come here and make sport of us; he came to my bed, and I gave a loud cry;
And it will be as he heard me that I lifted up my voice and I will cry, and he will let go his garment by me, will flee and come forth without
And it will be as I lifted up my voice, and I will cry out, and he will let go his garment by me and will flee without
This is the word which I have spoken to Pharaoh: what God is about to do he has let Pharaoh see.
And now let Pharaoh look himself out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.
Let Pharaoh do this: let him appoint overseers over the land, and take the fifth part of the land of Egypt during the seven years of plenty,
and let them gather all the food of these coming good years, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, for food in the cities, and keep it.
And let the food be as store for the land for the seven years of famine, which will be in the land of Egypt, that the land perish not through the famine.
And Joseph will see his brethren, and will know them, and he will not let himself be known to them. And will speak with them hard things: and he will say to them, From whence came ye? And they will say, From the land of Canaan to buy food.
Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother, and ye shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proved, whether there be any truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh surely ye are spies.
If ye are honest, let one of your brethren remain bound in the house of your prison, but go ye, carry grain for the hunger of your households;
But bring your youngest brother to me, and let your words be confirmed, be proved true, and you shall not die. And they did so.
And they said to one another, “Truly we are guilty regarding our brother [Joseph], because we saw the distress and anguish of his soul when he pleaded with us [to let him go], yet we would not listen [to his cry]; so this distress and anguish has come on us.”
And the ruler of the land said, In this way I may be certain that you are true men; let one of you be kept here with me, while you go and take grain for the needs of your families;
And come back to me with your youngest brother: then I will be certain that you are true men, and I will give your brother back to you and let you do trade in the land.
And Reuben said, Put my two sons to death if I do not come back to you with him; let him be in my care and I will give him safely back to you.
And he said, I will not let my son go down with you; for his brother is dead and he is all I have: if evil overtakes him on the journey, then through you will my grey head go down to the underworld in sorrow.
If you will let our brother go with us, we will go down and get food:
Then Judah said to his father Israel, "Send the boy with me, and let us arise and go, so that we will live and not die--you, we, and our children.
I will be surety for him; of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, and set him before thee, then let me bear the blame for ever:
Truly, if we had not let the time go by, we might have come back again by now.
Then the servant said, Peace be with you: have no fear: your God, even the God of your father, has put wealth in your bags for you: I had your money. Then he let Simeon come out to them.
Then he washed his face and came out, and, restraining himself, said, “Let the meal be served.”
And in the morning as soon as it was light, the men were let go with their asses.
With whomsoever of thy servants it is found, let him die; and we also will be my lord's bondmen.

But Judah drew near to him and said, "Please my lord, let your servant speak a word in the ears of my lord, and {let not your anger burn} against your servant, for {you are like Pharaoh himself}.
And you said to your servants, Bring him down to me, and let me see him.
And we said to my lord, His father will not let him go; for if he went away his father would come to his death.
For I made myself responsible for the boy to my father, saying, If I do not give him safely back to you, let mine be the sin for ever.
So then, please let your servant remain in place of the boy as a slave to my lord, and let the boy go up with his brothers.
But, now, do not grieve, neither let it be vexing in your eyes, that ye sold me hither, - for, to save life, did God send me before you.
And let not your eye regret your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt shall be yours.
Then Israel said to Joseph, "Now let me die since I have seen your face, for you are still alive."
And they said to Pharaoh, "We have come to sojourn in the land, for there is no pasture for your servant's flocks, for the famine [is] severe in the land of Canaan. So now, please let your servants dwell in the land of Goshen."
And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Let them have the land of Goshen; and if there are any able men among them, put them over my cattle.
The land of Egypt [is] before you. Settle your father and your brothers in the best of the land. Let them live in the land of Goshen, and if you know there is among them men of ability, then appoint them overseers of my own livestock."
Wherefore lettest thou us die before thine eyes, and the land to go to nought? Buy us and our lands for bread: and let both us and our lands be bond to Pharaoh. Give us seed, that we may live and not die, and that the land go not to waste."
And they said, Thou hast saved us alive. Let us find favour in the eyes of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh's bondmen.
but let me lie with my ancestors. Carry me out of Egypt and bury me in their burial site." And he said, "I will do according to your word."
And Joseph said unto his father, "They are my sons, which God hath given me here." And he said, "Bring them to me, and let me bless them."
And Israel said to Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face; and behold, God has let me see also thy seed.
The angel who redeemed me from all evil, may he bless the boys. And through them let my name be perpetuated, and the name of my fathers, Abraham and Isaac. And let them multiply into many in the midst of the earth.
And he blessed them on that day, saying - In thee, let Israel bless himself saying, God set thee as Ephraim, and as Manasseh! So he set Ephraim before Manasseh.
Then called Jacob unto his sons, - and said - Gather yourselves together, and let me tell you, that which shall befall you in the afterpart of the days.
Simeon and Levi [are] brothers; weapons of violence [are] their swords. Let me not come into their council.
Let not my person be joined to their company. For in their anger they killed men, and at their pleasure they hamstrung cattle.
Let their anger be cursed, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel. I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
And he saw that rest was good and the land was pleasing; so he let them put weights on his back and became a servant.
Naphtali is a hind let loose; He giveth goodly words.
Blessings of sons, old and young, to the father: blessings of the oldest mountains and the fruit of the eternal hills: let them come on the head of Joseph, on the crown of him who was separate from his brothers.
'My father made me swear, saying, "Behold, I [am about] to die. In the tomb that I have hewed out for myself in the land of Canaan--there you must bury me." So then, please let me go up and let me bury my father; then I will return.'"
You are to say to Joseph, Let the wrongdoing of your brothers be overlooked, and the evil they did to you: now, if it is your pleasure, let the sin of the servants of your father's God have forgiveness. And at these words, Joseph was overcome with weeping.
Come on, let us deal wisely with them, lest they multiply, and it come to pass that, if war occur, they take side with our enemies and fight against us, and go up out of the land.
"When you help the Hebrew women give birth," he said, "watch them as they deliver. If it's a son, kill him; but if it's a daughter, let her live."
But the midwives feared God, and they did not do as the king of Egypt had said to them. They let the boys live.
And the king of Egypt summoned the midwives, and he said to them, "Why have you done this thing and let the boys live?"
And Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, "Every son who is born you will throw into the Nile, and every daughter you will let live."
And he said to his daughters, Where is he? why have you let the man go? make him come in and give him a meal.
And Moses said, "Let me turn aside and see this great sight. Why does the bush not burn up?"
And they will listen to your voice, and you will go, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and you will say to him, 'Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews has met with us, and now let us please go [on] a journey of three days into the desert, and let us sacrifice to Yahweh our God.'
But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a powerful hand.
And I will stretch out my hand and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof; and after that he will let you go.
Let him give ear to your voice, and you will put my words in his mouth; and I will be with your mouth and with his, teaching you what you have to do.
