But that I may not too much intrude on thy time, I beseech thee to hear us briefly in thy kindness.

So, Felix allowed Paul to remain in chains, because he wanted to gain favor with the Jews [during that period of time]. Two years passed and Felix was succeeded by Portius Festus.

Then Festus replied [that] Paul was being kept at Caesarea, and [he] himself was about to go [there] in a short time.
So, he said, "Let your leaders go down with me and if there is anything [found] wrong with the man, let them bring their charges against him [at that time]."
Some time after, King Agrippa and Bernice came to Caesarea on a state visit to Festus,
as they continued there for some time, Festus represented Paul's case to the king: Felix, said he, had left here a certain prisoner:
So they came back here with me and the next day without losing any time I took my place in the judge's chair and ordered the man brought in.
For it seems to me absurd to send a prisoner, without at the same time stating the charges made against him."
They had previously known me for quite some time, if they were willing to testify, that according to the strictest party of our religion I lived as a Pharisee.

And when we had gone on slowly for a long time, and had had hard work getting across to Cnidus, for the wind was against us, we went under cover of Crete, in the direction of Salmone;
And, when a considerable time had passed, and sailing was already dangerous, because, even the Fast, had already gone by, Paul began to advise,
But, after no long time, there beat down from it a tempestuous wind, called Euraquilo, -
And as we had not seen the sun or stars for a long time, and a great storm was on us, all hope of salvation was gone.
And [because] many were experiencing lack of appetite, at that time Paul stood up in their midst [and] said, "Men, [you] ought to have followed my [advice] not to put out to sea from Crete, and [thus] avoided this damage and loss!
And they let down the lead, and saw that the sea was a hundred and twenty feet deep; and after a little time they did it again and it was ninety feet.
As it was dawning, Paul urged the crew to eat something, saying, "You have been waiting for fourteen days [for the weather to break] and you have continued to fast [all that time], eating nothing [at all].
And, casting off the anchors, they let them go into the sea, - at the same time, loosening the lashings of the rudders, and, hoisting up the foresail to the wind, they made for the beach.
They expected that he would swell up or suddenly drop dead. But after they waited a long time and saw nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.
So they set a day for him, and came in large numbers to see him at the place where he was lodging, and from morning till night he continued to explain to them the kingdom of God, at the same time giving them his own testimony and trying from the law of Moses and the prophets to convince them about Jesus.
For the heart of this people was fattened, and they have heard with their ears dully; and they closed their eyes; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."
God had promised this good news a long time ago through His prophets [and had it written] in the holy Scriptures [i.e., the Old Testament].
and declared to be the son of God with power of the holy ghost, that sanctifieth, since the time that Jesus Christ our Lord rose again from death:
Indeed, my witness is God, whom I serve in my spirit by telling the good news about His Son, that I never fail to mention you every time I pray,
At all times in my prayers, - making supplication - if, by some means, even now, at any time, I may have a way opened, in the will of God, to come unto you;
And I do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, that many times I did purpose to come unto you -- and was hindered till the present time -- that some fruit I might have also among you, even as also among the other nations.
Because the work of the law is seen in their hearts, their sense of right and wrong giving witness to it, while their minds are at one time judging them and at another giving them approval;
No one understands [everything]. No one looks to God [all the time].
For God showed him publicly dying as a sacrifice of reconciliation to be taken advantage of through faith. This was to vindicate his own justice (for in his forbearance, God passed over men's former sins)??26 to vindicate his justice at the present time, and show that he is upright himself, and that he makes those who have faith in Jesus upright also.
To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
How was it reckoned? In the time of circumcision? Or in the time before he was circumcised? Not in time of circumcision: but when he was yet uncircumcised.

It is not possible for you, at the same time, to take the cup of the Lord and the cup of evil spirits; you may not take part in the table of the Lord and the table of evil spirits.
For when it is time to eat, everyone proceeds with his own supper. One is hungry and another becomes drunk.
