And large crowds gathered close around him, so that he got into a boat to sit down, and all the crowd was standing on the shore.
Some, again, fell into the brambles; but the brambles shot up and choked it.
But others fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some a hundred-fold, some sixty-fold, some thirty-fold.
For this reason I put things into the form of stories; because they see without seeing, and give ear without hearing, and the sense is not clear to them.
But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and immediately with joy receiveth it;
And what was sown into the thorn plants--this is the one who hears the word, and the anxiety of this world and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the word and it becomes unproductive.
But he that receiveth seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; who also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some a hundred fold, some sixty, some thirty.
So, when the blades of corn shot up, and came into ear, the tares made their appearance also.
Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the season of the harvest I will tell the reapers, "First gather the darnel and tie it into bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my storehouse." '"
It is the smallest of all seeds, but when it is grown it is the largest of plants; yea, it grows into a tree, so that the wild birds come and roost in its branches."
He told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took [and] put into three measures of wheat flour until the whole [batch] was leavened."
Then he left the crowds [and] came into the house, and his disciples came to him saying, "Explain the parable of the darnel in the field to us."
the Son of man will send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all that commit offences, and those who do iniquity, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire,
and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!
"Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was thrown into the sea and gathered [fish] of every kind,
which when it was filled they pulled to shore and sat down [and] collected the good [fish] into containers, but the bad they threw out.
"So will it be at the end of the age. The angels will go forth and separate the wicked from the righteous, and fling them into the furnace of fire.
and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth!
And He said to them, Therefore every scribe having been discipled into the kingdom of the heavens is like unto a man who is a landlord, who bringeth out of his treasure things both new and old.
And when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed thence: And coming into his own country,
And having come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, Whence has this man this wisdom and these works of power?
For Herod had apprehended John, shackled him, and thrust him into prison on account of Herodias, his brother Philip's wife,
When Jesus had heard that, he departed thence by ship into a desert place out of the way. And when the people had heard thereof, they followed him afoot out of their cities.
Now [when it] was evening, the disciples came to him saying, "The place is desolate and the hour {is late}. Release the crowds so that they can go away into the villages [and] purchase food for themselves."
then giving orders for the company to sit down on the grass, he took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks; then breaking the loaves into pieces, he gave them to his disciples, and the disciples to the company: who all of them eat,
And immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent away the crowds.
And having dismissed the crowds, he went up into the mountain apart to pray. And when even was come, he was alone there,
And [when] they got into the boat, the wind abated.
And when they were come over, they went into the land of Gennesaret.
And [when] the men of that place recognized him, they sent [word] into that whole surrounding region, and they brought to him all those {who were sick}.
It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth--this defiles a person."
Let them! They are blind guides of the blind. And if the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit."
Do you not understand that everything that enters into the mouth goes into the stomach and is evacuated into the latrine?
And Jesus, going forth from thence, went away into the parts of Tyre and Sidon;
And Jesus, going away from thence, came towards the sea of Galilee, and he went up into the mountain and sat down there;
And [after he] sent away the crowds, he got into the boat and went to the region of Magadan.
But when Jesus was come into the parts of Caesarea-Philippi, he demanded of his disciples, saying, Who do men say that I the Son of man am?
[And] I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven [i.e., for opening up the way into it]. And whatever [truth] you [and the other apostles. See 18:18] require [people to believe and practice] here on earth will have already been required of them [by God] in heaven. And whatever [truth] you do not require [of people] on earth, will not be required [by God] in heaven."
From that time, began Jesus Christ to be pointing out to his disciples that he must needs, into Jerusalem, go away, and, many things, suffer, from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, - and on, the third day, arise.
I declare unto you, some are here present, who shall not die, till they have seen the son of man enter into his kingdom.
And after six days Jesus takes with him Peter, and James, and John his brother, and brings them up into a high mountain apart.
but I say into you, that Elijah is come already, and they knew him not, but did unto him whatsoever they would. Even so shall the Son of man also suffer of them.
and saying, "Lord, have mercy on my son, because he has seizures and suffers severely, for often he falls into the fire and often into the water.
22 While they were together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,
Now [as] they were gathering in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is going to be betrayed into the hands of men,
And, when they came into Capernaum, they who, the half shekel, were receiving, came near unto Peter, and said, Your teacher, doth he not pay the half shekel?
He said, "Yes." And [when he] came into the house, Jesus spoke to him first, saying, "What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth collect tolls or taxes--from their own sons, or from foreigners?"
Still, that we may not shock them, go and throw a line into the Sea; take the first fish that rises, open its mouth, and you will find in it a piece of money. Take that, and give it to the collectors for both of us."
and said, "Truly I say to you, unless you turn around and become like young children, you will never enter into the kingdom of heaven!
But that person who causes one of these little ones [i.e., humble followers of the Lord] who believes in me to be led astray [from God], he would have been better off to have had a huge millstone tied around his neck and dumped into a deep ocean [Note: This "millstone" was a heavy circular stone rolled over grain to crush it and was moved by an animal walking in a circle].
And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw [it] from you! It is better for you to enter into life crippled or lame than, having two hands or two feet, to be thrown into the eternal fire!
And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw [it] from you! It is better for you to enter into life one-eyed than, having two eyes, to be thrown into fiery hell!
How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
For, where there are two or three, gathered together into my name, there, am I, in their midst.
But he did not want to, but rather he went [and] threw him into prison until he would repay what was owed.
And it happened that when Jesus had finished these statements, he went away from Galilee and came into the region of Judea on the other side of the Jordan.
And he said to him, "Why are you asking me about [what is] good? There is one [who is] good. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments!"
And Jesus said to his disciples, "Truly I say to you that with difficulty a rich person will enter into the kingdom of heaven!
And again I say to you, it is easier [for] a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich person into the kingdom of God."
For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a householder which went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard.
And [after] coming to an agreement with the workers for a denarius per day, he sent them into his vineyard.
And to those [people] he said, 'You also go into the vineyard, and I will give you whatever is right.'
They said to him, 'Because no one hired us.' He said to them, 'You go also into the vineyard.'
See, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man will be given into the hands of the chief priests and scribes; and they will give orders for him to be put to death,
saying to them, "Go into the village before you, and right away you will find a donkey tied and a colt with her. Untie [them] [and] bring [them] to me.
And [when] he entered into Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred up, saying, "Who is this?"
And Jesus entered into the temple of God, and cast out all that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers and the seats of those that sold the doves.
And he said to them, "It is written, 'My house will be called a house of prayer,' but you are turning it into a den of robbers!"
Then the blind and the lame came unto him, into the temple, and he cured them.
And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany, and he lodged there.
But early in the morning, as he came back into the city, he hungered.
And having seen a fig tree, one on the way, he came to it, and found nothing on it, except leaves only. And he says to it, Let fruit no longer be produced from thee into the age. And immediately the fig tree dried out.
And Jesus answered [and] said to them, "Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will do not only [what was done to] the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be lifted up and thrown into the sea," it will happen!
And when he came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, saying, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
Which of the two did the will of [his] father?" They said, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are going ahead of you into the kingdom of God!
Jesus told them, "I tell all of you with certainty, tax collectors and prostitutes will get into God's kingdom ahead of you! John came to you living a righteous life, and you didn't believe him, but the tax collectors and prostitutes did. But even when you saw that, you didn't change your minds at last and believe him."
"Hearken another similitude. There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and made a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a strange country:
And sent his servants, to call the invited into the marriage-feast, - and they would not come.
Again, sent he other servants, saying - Say to the invited, Lo! my dinner, have I prepared, mine oxen and my fatlings, are slain, - and, all things, are, ready: Come ye into the marriage-feast.
And, they, slighting it, went off, one, indeed, into his own field, and, another, unto his merchandise, -
go therefore into the thoroughfares of the highways, and as many as ye shall find invite to the wedding feast.
And those servants went out into the streets, and got together all those whom they came across, bad and good: and the feast was full of guests.
Then the king said to the servants, Put cords round his hands and feet and put him out into the dark; there will be weeping and cries of sorrow.
And they send to Him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, "Teacher, we know that Thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one; for Thou dost not look into the face of men:
The essence of the whole law and the prophets is packed into these two commands."
But woe to you scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of heaven before men; for you enter not into it, neither do you suffer those entering to go in.
Woe be unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites, for ye which compass sea and land, to bring one into your belief: and when he is brought, ye make him twofold more the child of hell, than ye yourselves are.
Alas for you, Teachers of the Law and Pharisees, hypocrites that you are! You pay tithes on mint, fennel, and caraway seed, and have neglected the weightier matters of the Law--justice, mercy, and good faith. These last you ought to have put into practice, without neglecting the first.
know, that your habitation shall be soon turned into a desert.
Jesus said to them, observe this vast structure, I tell you for certain, there shall not be any part of it left standing, but it shall be all thrown into ruins.
Jesus answered,
Then, will they deliver you up into tribulation, and will slay you, - and ye will be men hated by all the nations, because of my name
And then many will be led into sin and will betray one another and will hate one another,
Then let them which be in Jewry fly into the mountains.
Learn the lesson taught by the fig tree. As soon as its branches are full of sap, and it is bursting into leaf, you know that summer is near.
Because as in those days before the overflowing of the waters, they were feasting and taking wives and getting married, till the day when Noah went into the ark,
But be certain of this, that if the master of the house had had knowledge of the time when the thief was coming, he would have been watching, and would not have let his house be broken into.
and while they were gone to buy, the bridegroom came, and they that were ready, entred with him into the hall, and the door was shut.
